D. is a clinical psychologist, founder and clinical director of Nogales Psychological Counseling, Inc., and Casa de la Familia. She oversees a clinical staff of about 70 bicultural-bilingual mental health professionals and an outreach program for domestic violence and sexual assault delivering services in Los Angeles, Orange, San Bernardino and Riverside Counties.
Casa de la Familia specializes in psychotherapy for trauma, including victims of domestic violence. Casa de la Familia advocates are readily available during peak crime hours, 24 hours a day. Casa de la Familia also facilitates a no-cost support group for women who have experienced domestic violence.
A crime can have severe effects on a victim. Weeks, even months after the event, a victim may be still experiencing emotional problems, which can lead to feelings of guilt, frustration, and anger. Casa de la Familia is dedicated to help those victims, as well as their families, who have suffered an emotional injury as a result of a crime.
Casa de la Familia currently partners with five divisions of the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) as part of the Domestic Abuse Response Team (DART), a unit that partners specially-trained officers with certified domestic violence counselors to provide immediate crisis intervention, trauma-informed care, and follow-up services to survivors and their families.

This organization was listed as a resource for low-income folks for counseling, but unfortunately they are unresponsive. I called and whoever answered was very sweet on the phone, but I then didn't hear back from them even though I signed my forms and event sent a follow up email but got no response. Unresponsive.

After reading the negative review I decided to edit my initial review. I'm not promoting this office only letting you know what this office did for me. I attended other therapy locations one of them being Kaiser. I attended a group, individual and I saw a psychologist there. In the group therapy you were given 3 months once the 3 months were over according to them you were emotionally well and ready return to work regardless of your own personal state of mind. If you insisted you were not ready the next step was to have you admitted to the psychiatric hospital. Individual therapy was 15 minutes

My family and I were the victim of a crime and it turned our world upside down. We did not know where to turn or how to deal with the anxiety and depression, nightmares and fear the we were constantly living with. A victim adovacte referred us to Casa and we found the support and care we needed to work through our issues. Casa adminstrative staff were there to help us every step of the way with paperwork, scheduling counseling sessions and offering referrals for additioanl resoures. The therapists they assigned to us really cared about us and was a great listener. She developed a plan of action
