Dr. John Athans, a native of the Buffalo area, has been in practice for approximately 29 years. He attended St. Bonaventure University for his undergraduate studies and the University of Buffalo School of Dental Medicine. After graduating in 1989, he pursued specialty training in a dental oncology residency at Roswell Park Cancer Institute's Department of Dentistry and Maxillofacial Prosthodontics.
All professionals at Transit Valley Dental Care, PLLC maintain the highest levels of accreditation and pursue ongoing education to stay abreast of the latest trends in the medical field. I was fortunate to come on board just as Dr. Athans transitioned to the new state-of-the-art office. As a Dental Hygienist, I enjoy educating and encouraging my patients to improve and maintain their overall dental health.

Highly recommend Dr.Athans and staff for the very best care.
He takes time to ensure that you are comfortable and not in any pain.
I recently had my crown replaced, the whole process took 3 hours and went so quickly. Back to normal the next day, no issues at all.
The entire staff is friendly and makes your dental appointments a pleasure. Great piece of mind, that my dental care is in such good hands!

I was in a lot of pain so I called the office as a new patient , and they got me in quickly. I have severe anxiety when it comes to the Dentist, but Dr. Athans and his staff made me feel very comfortable. He was so patient and kind. I needed to have my tooth pulled and I was terrified! Dr. Athans explained everything to me and I couldn’t believe how quick and painless the procedure was. I will recommend Dr. Athans to all of my family and friends.

Dr. Athans and his team take such great care of their patients. I don't even know where to start. Kim at the front desk, Liz, Nancy, and of course Dr. Athans himself. He is so thorough in his work and really makes you feel comfortable during your visit.
I just came back to Buffalo after being away for many years. Their new office is beautiful and the staff are still doing what they've always done- taking exceptionally great care of their patients.
