Services
Staff members of Coggins Funeral Home are caring and experienced professionals who understand that each family is unique and has personal requests and traditions. These requests and traditions are of utmost importance to our staff of licensed funeral directors. Fred Coggins is a native of Pike County, Georiga, but has spent most of his adult life in Thomaston serving the needs of families here for over 50 years.
Crystal Hill Cemetery is located at 321 Hannah's Mill Road next to Coggins Funeral Home. Nestled on a beautiful hillside overlooking the Silvertown ball park and the courthouse square, Crystal Hill Cemetery offers several acres of quiet and serene property to suit all your cemetery needs. Crystal Hill Cemetery is a perpetual care cemetery.
Most of us plan ahead in life. We plan for our wedding, our children's education, family vacations, and other significant expected life events. We also plan for the unexpected events of life by purchasing home, auto and medical insurance. Understanding the benefits of pre-planning has prompted many to take the step to plan their own arrangements.
Many who have undergone the emotional strain of arranging a funeral within hours of losing a loved one have made the choice to pre-plan their own funeral. Doing so lifts the burden from their loved ones by relieving decision-making pressure at a time of grief and emotional stress. Funeral arrangements are a deeply personal choice.
Most of us are not prepared to plan and carry out a funeral ceremony for someone we love. And so much of the information available on this critically important subject fails to focus on what is most important: having a personalized, meaningful funeral that helps families and friends begin the healing process of mourning after the death of someone we love.

As a former employee of Coggins Funeral Home, I can truly say that I'm proud to have worked with such kind and caring professionals. "A Family Serving Families" is more than just a slogan, it's a true belief held by each staff member which has built a reputation of trust in our community. I have also been the family in need and I proudly tell you all that the services given to my family were no different than the services I strived so hard to give to each family I was honored to serve. Coggins Funeral will ALWAYS be a part of the best within me. Thank you for honoring me to serve families and to

The staff was very rude and un-professional because my grandmother did not have insurance. I let them know that we would pay cash for her service and they continued to joke about delivering her body to my residence if I did not make the payments. The staff completely changed their attitude when I paid half of the money, everyone was suddenly so nice. I met with Mike on 9/2 and by 9/13 we had the bill paid in full. I will never use Coggins again.

During the time of death, life is hard for anyone. Jason, Ryan, and the staff at Coggins Funeral Home made my life so much easier. They treated us like family from the start. I never felt like I was a burden to any of them. I felt like anytime I had a question about anything dealing with my mom's death all I had to do was pick up the phone and call. Thanks again for being so awesome.

My father passed away unexpectedly. Luckily, he had the foresight to have met with Jason and Ryan at the funeral home for pre-arrangements. I was in no shape to make important decisions but my precious daddy has already taken care of everything.
One call to the funeral home and everything was handled just as Daddy wanted. All the staff at Coggins were so very nice! They were compassionate and caring. Every detail was taken care of!
The visitation, funeral service and cemetery service were just perfect. The staff helped guide us and drove us to- from the funeral. They brought plates, cups, extra

Coggins Funeral Home will make you feel like family. Jason and his staff did an amazing job directing my wife and I though the process and answer any questions we had. We couldn't of have had the going home celebration that we did without them. Thank you Jason for your dedication and support!!!

Coggins Funeral Home helped my family and I with the passing of my father in 11/2020. I’m not sure how we could have done all of this without them; they were kind, caring and attentive. I’m so glad they were there for us when we needed it the most.
