Maple Star Oregon
Children are removed from their homes every day due to abuse or neglect by their family or caretakers. Therapeutic foster care helps youth build key skills they need to be successful in their home and community. Oregon has seen up to 9 children/week go without a placement because there aren't enough homes available.

Maple Star Oregon is a mutual benefit nonprofit agency specializing in therapeutic foster care. Our mission is to provide quality, effective, community-based social services to promote growth and well-being in youth and families. We are committed to the best interests of youth, families, and the community.
Services
Maple Star Oregon ("Maple Star") is a private non-profit Child Caring Agency licensed by the Oregon Department of Human Services (DHS) in 1998. Maple Star began providing therapeutic foster care in August of 1999 with a mission to provide quality, effective community-based social services to promote growth and well-being in youth and families.
Maple Star Oregon offers a number of in-home and out-of-home services to children, youth, and families. Maple Star provides therapeutic foster care for youth ages six and older. We serve consumers throughout the state through contracts with DHS as well as juvenile corrections in Multnomah County.

We serve youth from all counties who are experiencing a variety of emotional and behavioral challenges, providing them with individualized services that are strengths-based and trauma informed. Our services are delivered in the home and community, and we promote community involvement and support for our youth.
Oregon is experiencing a statewide shortage of foster homes available to care for children of all ages. There is a particularly high need to find homes for children who have experienced high levels of trauma and youth who require more one on one support. Behavioral Rehabilitation Services (BRS) is a higher level of care that provides skill development and support to children with moderate to high emotional and behavioral needs.
Foster Care Coordinators (FCCs) are responsible for the ongoing certification maintenance, support, training, and retention of current Family Care Provider homes in their identified caseload. FCCs are also responsible for the case management and oversight of youth placed in their identified Family Care Provider homes.
