Very pretty and genuinely historic -- none of this ye olde faux-antique stuff you see elsewhere. We've been here for two very special meals in the last few months; tonight was for Christmas dinner. The place was slammed, but fortunately we had a reservation. The hostess was getting inundated with walk-ins that she really couldn't accommodate, but she handled everyone calmly and graciously. They had a prix fixe, limited menu; two of us had prime rib and the other had pork shank. Everything was excellent and our server was very nice and professional. The menu had no prices, so I don

Had lunch here and got a wide assortment of menu items. The beet salad and the clam chowder were really good, the chowder had a lot of clams in it. The burger and the turkey sandwich were good, but pretty standard. I wish the turkey sandwich had been warm, especially with the dressing added onto it. The chicken pot pie was really good- nice flavor to the filling, could have had more chicken. The true star of the meal were the desserts- the lemon raspberry cake was really good, a nice tart flavor. The warm brown sugar cake was so good- not too sweet, soft and gooey, and paired really well with the

My sister and I went there for lunch. It was a Sunday around 1 o'clock. We had to get a reservation for an hour later because they were busy. I have to say I've never been to such a restaurant and then disappointment as such. My sister ordered a pot pie which not only looked and tasted like it came out of a box. My smash burger was good. Both meals were delivered and it was cold. We don't blame the waitress so we took care of her. Very disappointing to have to pay $85 for a terrible meal.

This place used to be really good. Now, the food is way overpriced for what you get - servings are smaller, quality is not great for the price, and the service is minimal. You pay $10 for a "bowl" of clam chowder and they literally give it to you in a small cup. The $23 sandwich was just soggy bread with steak and cheese and fries on the side. Definitely a disappointment this time around.

Typical of corporate BS, you didn't bother to respond to my phone calls about my bad Thanksgiving experience. You have lost a customer.

We just loved everything about the Inn. The decorations, our room and both the dining room and pub were wonderful. After seeing the winter lights we ate at the pub since we were not that hungry. I had a delicious butternut squash soup and my fiancé had the beet salad. Since I always steal his food I can say both were phenomenal. We shared a smash burger. They served us each half a burger with fries and the flavors on that burger were incredible. We ended the meal with a chocolate torte with a raspberry sauce.
Everyone at the Inn was so nice. Truly a wonder experience!

Absolutely love coming here, especially during the month of December when it is so festively decorated ! We have stayed here several times.I prefer staying in the main building as it is much more convenient. We have stayed in the annex, which is more modern , but you have to walk outside to get to the main building. A short walk, but when it is cold, it's undesirable. And if you sit in the lobby, then you have your coats. Each room is different, so you need to ask when making a reservation. We had a king suite and a queen room with claw foot tub.both were excellent. Staff were friendly, polite

My family went here for dinner the other night. The hotel def makes you feel like you are back in time which was neat, but I was not a fan of the restaurant. My wine was delicious but I thought the food was over priced. It was nothing special. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't great. For the prices I was expecting it too be better. Kind of a let down.

Delightful experience here. We didn't have high expectations but decided to eat here as we were staying in the Inn. The atmosphere was great - quiet, lots of space between tables. Food was very good, as were the desert which we usually skip but could not resist. Our server, Darlene, was very friendly and professional. We were very happy we decided to stay in tonight.

I understand the shabby chic nature of the hotel and applaud it to a point. Clearly a head-to-toe refurbishment would increase the prices and cancel out some of the old-world charm. But having said this, there are some things that simply cannot be overlooked. We had a King Suite room and, really, we weren't comfortable. The carpeting needs a deep cleaning (I never walked on it barefoot), the slip covers on the furniture (sofa) are in desperate need of a wash or better yet a change, the curtains also are VERY tired as are the blinds, and really not having a coffee maker or kettle to boil

This iconic and historic Inn and restaurant are beautiful and tourists must stop and visit. Staff was rude, however, not just my experience but others I witnessed. I ordered the housemade chips and dip and marinated olives. They were ok. We didn't get silverware or napkins. Pretty place!

Food: 4 stars
Drinks: 4 stars
Ambiance: 5 stars

We always make time to stop by the Red Lion Inn during trips to the Berkshires. They now offer a wonderful take out menu and the director of dining prepared a perfect order for us to pickup the first night of our trip. (We love the Thanksgiving dinner.) We returned later in the weekend for drinks and were not disappointed by the timeless ambiance and old world charms of the property. The porch is a lovely place to spend an afternoon or early evening. The only thing missing is Norman -- the former resident cat. We hear he's now living with a

Review is for the food only:
We had a lovely meal on 9/24. I do recommend reservations as they book up quickly.
My husband wasn't thrilled with his old-fashioned; my glass of wine tasted like the bottle hadn't been adequately sealed correctly after opening.

The food was delicious. I had the halibut. It was salty but not offensively so, and my husband had the shrimp and pasta. He said it was very good. The service was excellent, the staff is bustling (and they seem short-staffed), so keep that in mind when you go and be patient.

I absolutely love this hotel. It's definitely a part of the local history and has so much to offer. The outdoor pool and hot tub is terrific, and I camped out there with my own food from Nejaimes, feeling as if I was on a spa retreat.

Keep in that mind that this is a very old New England historical hotel and site. So, you may see some bugs and cobwebs here and there. It's not modern, sleek, or sturdy. But, if you want to feel transported back in time and experience staying in what can feel like a movie set, be sure to stay here.

They also have 2 restaurants- a pub and a formal dining

A walk through time. Beautiful hotel that has been around since 1776. My husband and I stayed in the Queen Village suite called The Houlden Suite which is in a separate building from the main hotel around the corner. The building we stayed in had plenty of charm and was decorated nicely. Two bathrooms, a small seated area and a queen bed in the bedroom. The linens were comfortable, and the room was clean. The internet worked terrifically. The cellular service was not good in the area and the bed did creak if you moved around in it and the ceiling needed a touch up but I loved it all and so did

Update - tonight I had the all American Thanksgiving turkey dinner. It was thick-sliced white meat with gravy, what seemed like homemade cranberry sauce, stuffing, burnt soft carrots, mashed potatoes, and green beans. The bread basket had fresh, crusty ciabatta rolls and butter. My wife had halibut steak with cream corn and large cubes of mashed chickpeas that were lightly fried. We skipped dessert and had strong and satisfying decaf coffee. The food and the ambience were perfect. The waiter was helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. We love it. Bathrooms are clean and spacious. After dinner we

We stayed at The Red Lion Inn for two nights for the first time this past October 2020. The fall foliage was breathtaking and I loved the huge pumpkin stationed right in front! Our room was off the main premises, right around the corner in one of their Village Houses. Although another family was staying the night, we had the whole house to ourselves the last night there and it was amazing! We called front desk and requested that they set up the fireplace and they arrived within 10 minutes! Front desk staff were accommodating and professional, as we made a number of other requests and they were

Had lunch on the side porch of the Red Lion Inn on October 19, 2020. Covid conscious seating and masks worn by all.

Service was Five Stars, specifically our server John.
Food was 3.5 to 4.

My sister in law loved the burger with blue cheese. She ordered medium rare, and it was prepared exactly that way, and that does not always occur. Center was pink. (See photos). She asked for the grain bread instead of the bridge roll, and she got it. It is worth mentioning that our server John stopped by right after the burger was delivered, to make sure the burger was as ordered. The accompanying greens
