Wheelan Funeral Home, now Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory has been serving Quad City families since 1889. That was the year Charles R. Wheelan, a Rock Island native, founded the funeral home, originally located at 322 - 20th Street under the name C.R. Wheelan. Growing business caused C.R. Wheelan to move three times before finding the location at 520 - 18th Street in 1920.

In 2002, the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home in Milan was opened and in 2007, the new larger Rock Island location at 3030-7th Avenue was completed. In 2009, the funeral home in Reynolds at 801 W. Edgington Street was acquired which allows Wheelan-Pressly to better serve the southwest Rock Island County area.
Services
No two families are alike - we offer funeral service options that are as unique as each individual family. In our long tradition of caring, our goal at Wheelan-Pressly is to make you feel like family. Conveniently located 10 blocks from our Rock Island facility, Knox Chapel is a 19th century chapel that has been lovingly restored. Reopened in 2016, this facility hosts funerals and memorial services for Wheelan-Pressly, but it is also available for weddings and other events. Our crematory is located at this site.
In 2007, we moved our Rock Island operation to its current location at 3030 7th Avenue. This beautiful facility is new construction and was designed with the comfort of our families in mind. We have over 16,000 square feet of space that offers a large chapel, family lounge area, and the convenience of ample parking.
Our Milan facility has been in operation since 2002 at 201 E. 4th Avenue. At 7,000 square feet of space, our building provides abundant and comfortable accommodations. Families appreciate our coffee lounge and children's area, available to them as they have need. Our location sits one block off of Highway 67, across from the new City Hall.
Opened in 2010, our Reynolds funeral home resides in a home built in the first part of the 1900's. After we purchased this funeral home from Leo Crummy, we spent time giving it many modern updates. Like all of our funeral homes, Reynolds is handicapped accessible and provides our families with a comfortable, peaceful atmosphere.
