Electric Jiu Jitsu is a Martial Arts School specialized in the study and practice of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Self Defense. We teach real practical and tactical Self-Defense through the fundamental concepts of the art of Jiu-Jitsu. Based on movement, timing, physical challenges, fast decision making and technique repetition.
Our programs are available for all levels and age groups. We offer daily classes for kids, youth and adults. We aim to impact the community around our school area by constantly introducing to new students the Jiu Jitsu lifestyle as we teach Self Defense and Sport Jiu-Jitsu, in both gi and no gi styles as one integrated discipline, providing all spectrums of grappling, in a relaxed yet disciplined vibe.

Services
Electric Kids Program provides children the first steps they need towards living a safe, productive and healthy life, while learning self defense, getting in great shape, making friends, and having fun. As both a martial art and contact sport this is a great opportunity for you child to learn how to persevere on the mats so they can persevere in life.
Program focuses in the basics principals of leverage, basic skills, simple positions and transitions that trigger the development of balance, coordination, strength and conditioning while you learn the most effective martial art in the world. It is a perfect training for beginners to introduce them to the Jiu Jitsu life style and also for those more advanced students that want sharpen their game.

I've been going to the gym for approximately a month. The coaching staff is great!!! The Professor Joao Assis is a great at what he does. He is very friendly and attentive to the students. You can tell that he is passionate at what he does. Love the fact that he is willing to help Law Enforcement Officers. The athletes are also very friendly. I would highly recommend to everybody!!

EJJ is a step above the rest, a great value, a truly family operation and membership, not to mention a world champion professor. The people who come an train here are amazing humans and give you encouragement to get better every time you train. for someone like myself who is completely new to Jiu Jitsu it makes the whole process worthwhile! Both my son and I come here. The whole experience since the beginning had been great. Everyone is great and makes you feel welcome and you become part of the Electric family.
Professor Joao is a world class black belt and a great guy who loves to share his knowledge. Been going here for four years and will be here for many, many more.

I got the opportunity to train here for about a month while in the area for work. João and the rest of the Electric Jiu Jitsu team welcomed me like one the family. Top tier instruction, students with a wide range of skill level and experience, and an all around great atmosphere. I was visiting So Cal for a few days and was looking for a gym to train at for a day or two; Electric was exactly what I was looking for. As soon as you walk in you get a very friendly welcome by everyone in the gym, including the instructor Joao Assis. Joao is a world champion who teaches great technique and goes to every person to make sure they have the move down before moving on. He also has the members do a few tough rounds - I think that day it was like five or six 6-minute rounds - which was also great. What you will find at EJJ is a group of men and women who are passionate about grappling.
Most of the students are high-level competitors that live and breath jiu jitsu.
What's important to note is that the gym's strongest and most skilled practitioner's ARE NOT MEATHEADS.
I feel safe grappling here because I know my partner respects my skill level, and will adjust his/her game to what's appropriate.

Kids classes! I've had two of my kids taking classes here for three months. My kids attended another school in Sacramento for a few years before so they did have a good jiu jitsu foundation. Electric BJJ has three kids classes per week, Mon, Weds, and Fri from 5:00 pm to 6:00pm. During the one hour the class the instructors keep the kids busy with warm-ups, drills, take downs, and a game at the end.
They offer a free one week trial which is definitely worth it to have the kids try out class before signing up. It's a relaxed atmosphere and a very fun class for kids. Electric BJJ

Great environment for adults and kids alike! My sons (7 and 11) and I train here and can't say enough good things about this place. From Joao with the adults to Sid, Miles and Vince with the kids and all the training partners, everyone is friendly and helpful to newcomers. If you're looking to start training in BJJ, this is the place.

I came into Electric Jiu-Jitsu not knowing much about the school as far as the dynamics of the school atmosphere only aware that Joao Assis is a top tier Black belt and one of the best in the world in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and part of the famed Checkmat Team.
I have been fortunate to learn from a variety of different Jiu-Jitsu teachers from Legends to top Black belts.
