Services
Dr. Lauren is originally from Westchester, New York. She earned her bachelor's degree in Public Health from Johns Hopkins University and then went on to earn her DDS degree from New York University College of Dentistry. After graduating dental school, she moved to Connecticut to complete her two-year residency training in Pediatric Dentistry at Yale-New Haven Hospital (YNHH).
Comprehensive dental rehabilitation at Yale-New Haven Children's Hospital is usually performed under general anesthesia. General anesthesia involves putting your child into a deep state of sleep, using inhaled gasses and IV medications. While there are always inherent risks related to anesthesia, they are extremely rare in healthy children.
Most children and adolescents can receive treatment in the dental office without significant difficulty or trauma. These patients may end up with inadequate dental care or care that causes significant physical and psychological trauma. This can ultimately cause significant anxiety in the dental setting and impact future oral health outcomes.
Sleepy Smiles CT welcomes pediatric patients and children, adolescents and individuals with special healthcare needs, that can not be treated in the traditional dental setting. Dr. Lauren would be happy to speak with you regarding any questions or concerns with your patients either before or after surgery.
