My mom worked here for years. Sadly they did not give her proper protection equipment during the ongoing COVID pandemic and she died from COVID. She had one more year before she retired. Due to short staff , over-working her and other staff , maltreatment and poor leadership she had to work with barely any staff after patients with COVID and transferred COVID patients where on her floor. She had to take care of them and clean their rooms. They gave her nothing but a face mask. Obviously she caught it and now she can’t hold her first precious grandson. She was a great nurse tho. Her patients loved

My father was in Aspen 5 years ago and liked the facility, staff and care.
However, 2 months ago he had bypass surgery and went to Aspen for rehab. Let me tell you it is not a good place. Two weeks after he got there he fell(an accident). His nurse came downstairs, picked him up, put him in his wheelchair and back in his bed. She didnt call 911 even though he complained of extreme pain in his hip and inability to move his leg. The next shift did call the doctor and subsequent xrays showed a fracture.
A week after hemi hip replacement he went back to Aspen, developed cough and nothing was done

Very untrained staff. Witnessed my mom needed to be pulled up in her bed and 2 of the nurses couldn’t do it, that’s the way she was left. My mom was placed in there to give us a short break and have her teeth and eyes taken care of. Was there 3 weeks and Aspen made their money and my mom didn’t get anything done. Food was a minus 10. Food was always cold, couldn’t warm it up, was told they didn’t have a microwave. Never, never again. If I could rate you it would be a minus 50.

So AWFUL ! I called the NJ STATE HOTLINE to report them .And the behavior of floor nurses They degrade not only the patient, but family members too ,visiting hours are ridiculous short. Also heard a number of howling an cry patients talk about how the are humidity,no activity, and had a number of clothing and other items lost in their so called laundry service. ....this is only my experience/Opinion. BUT.....
