Services
Since 1873 Howe-Peterson has proudly stood as Dearborn's pioneer funeral home, and the oldest continuous running business in the city. It all started when Elba Howe arrived in Dearborn in 1864 as the Station Master for the Michigan Central Railroad, where he began to also assist local farmers in conducting funerals and stocking a few coffins in the general store.
Staff members of Howe-Peterson Funeral Home and Cremation Services are caring and experienced professionals who understand that each family is unique and has personal requests and traditions. These requests and traditions are of utmost importance to our staff of licensed funeral directors. Lindsay has always wanted to work in the funeral industry.
Pre-funding funerals is a growing trend in America because of the peace of mind that comes from having ones affairs in order. Funding those arrangements with insurance coverage or a trust are the two ways we handle pre-funding. Your funding is backed by a national industry leader with many years providing preneed insurance with thousands of policies in force.
A. If you qualify (regarding age and health) you can choose from a variety of payment options. If a death should occur while making payments, the unpaid balance would not have to be paid. It is totally insured. A. Your funeral arrangements, details, and any money prepaid would transfer to any funeral home you wish to use.

One of the most difficult times in my life was losing my Dad so suddenly on July 4th. The only place that I would trust with his funeral was Howe Peterson. I had attended funerals there before and was impressed at the staff and services. They didn’t let us down. From my first call to Lindsay to the final goodbye to my Dad at the funeral home, the staff was so helpful and supportive. I worried about how Dad would look in the casket, but he looked amazing. Just looked like he was lying there sleeping. So peaceful and natural. Dad was buried at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly and the Service
