Shady Grove Foods started as a New American pop-up restaurant founded by father and son, David and Dennis Robicheau. Shady Grove's repertoire was built upon a foundation of family recipes, Cajun/Creole Cuisine, and the massive cultural diversity that is Southern and Central California. Other influences include Thai, New Mexican, Santa Maria BBQ, Classic French, and beyond.

Turn your next get together, corporate meeting, or wedding into a festival by having a pig roast with all the trimmings. Although the term Cochon De Lait is French, the origin of this Louisiana social event is obscure. It is known that the custom began at least a century ago and has since been popular throughout Cajun Country.

Here today at Brouwerij West. Organization is pathetic. Wanted to order but gave up after waiting 10 minutes on line as the line hadn't moved. Same girl taking orders and expediting them. Would have been at least 30/40 minutes to get anything to eat. This is totally prepared food. It's all sitting there in heated trays (been here for over an hour and they're still serving from the chafing dishes and NONE of them have been refilled). They should be able to serve it up in real time but no, apparently, that's wayyyy to difficult. Too many menu items for them to handle and zero

Extremely bland for how expensive the food is. No salt or BBQ sauce on anything

5/31/21 San Pedro - Tried to taste this awesome BBQ at Brouwerij West. Smelled good, Looked good, and people seemed to be enjoying it BUT not sure what happened today but the crew was unable to deliver. When we placed our order I noticed several people asking for their order status. She said 30 more minutes... I was told 1 maybe 1.5hr wait for my new order?? I figured it must be worth the wait But 2hrs later I was told probably ANOTHER hour wait? We were too hungry to wait any longer & requested a refund. A poor Memorial Day event in San Pedro today Ugh!

I've tried Shady Groves Foods barbecue before at various events, but they appear to have stepped up their game. While at Ten Mile Brewing Company my wife and I bought lunch from Shady Grove and we were very pleased with the amazing flavors of the Big Damn Dog, BBQ Beans, and Corn Salad. The dog was certainly big and it had a great combination of ingredients. My wife is not a big fan of beans in general, but their BBQ Beans really impressed us with its plethora of meats (chorizo, brisket, etc.). The Basil and pepper in the corn salad gave it zing.
And best of all, the food all paired exceptionally

I was driving along Willow, headed towards Costco. Shady Grove had a pop up in the parking lot of Ten Mile (a craft brewery). I smelled the scent of their cooking a block before I saw their set up, and it got me thinking about lunch.

I ordered several items: the fried rib tips ($10); a side of corn salad ($4); and the hot link andouille sausage sandwich ($14).

The rib tips are smoked meat dipped in vinegar based bbq sauce. I didn't observe the preparation process--so I'm not sure at what point the item is "fried", but it was very good. The meat is reasonably tender and moist

Legit barbecue place, and you can find them every Friday at the Ten Mile Brewery parking lot on Willow Street. Because their tent takes up quite a few parking spots, finding a vacant place to park in this already small lot can be a challenge.

Each order is made fresh on the grill, and you can see your food being prepared in front of you. Seasoning is done perfectly, even though I noticed that I got really thirsty after devouring the Louisiana ribs with coleslaw.

The smoky scent stayed on my clothes long after I finished lunch, which I didn't mind at all. It allowed me to relive the experience

This for their FOOD TRUCK. Tried their "McRib" style sandwich in San Pedro. Service was pretty fast but while the bun and cabbage on their rib sandwich was pretty good, the ribs were basically cold and the fries cold and hard. If the food was warm it probably would have been real good. They need better quality control.

I almost don't want to write this review so I can keep the secret to myself. But I have to say what I have to say.

The food. Is. Amazing. There is so much love that goes into the food. From the menu to the entrees to the sides.

Must get: bourbon bacon, shady taters (sweet potato and Yukon potatoes baked then FRIED and seasoned with crack or something similarly addictive). We never walk away without getting these on the side.

St. Louis ribs - bomb.

Gumbo - yes, get it

Garlic scallion noodles - must try

Smoked whole chicken - delicious, leftovers are perfect for lunch the following day

Seriously good BBQ! And don't get me started on how good it smelled in the car on the way home! Shady Grove has done catering and pop-ups, but now they have a new location in Long Beach and we went crazy at (1731 4th Street.) Tri Tip sandwich was tender, The Hot Hen Fried Chicken Sandwich was great and it has BACON along with yummy pickled cabbage. We loved the gumbo, Shady taters(crunchy & salty on outside, soft on the inside) and my personal favorite the Goucho Fries - melty cheese, chimichurri & sliced Tri tip! Wow! Added bonus - the guys are really nice and are hoping

SOOOO GOOD!! Jade was so friendly and Dave and Dennis did great on the grill. The best bacon I have ever had! Literally melts in your mouth. The fries were delicious too and make sure to try their specialty sauces! They were at 10 Mile Brewery when I had their food, but I would literally drive anywhere to have more! Thanks again!

While hanging out with 50 of my closest friends on the BigRedBus.com's pub crawl, we stopped at the Ten Mile Brewery (also amazing!). Shady Grove Foods had a space set up out front serving up some of the most delicious food I have ever had the luxury of tasting! My mouth is still watering while thinking about that fried chicken sandwich! Popeye's chicken sandwich ain't got nothing on Shady Grove!

Let me preface this review by divulging that Dave and Dennis are personal friends. That does not change the fact that the are both great cooks serving up some of the beets Santa Maria tri tip ( wIth their spin on it) anywhere in So Ca. That alone would be reason enough to try them out but it is far from the only thing in the menu worth your time and devotion.

Their fried chicken sandwich is absolutely one of my favorite sandwiches of all time. Served on a soft bun with spicy pickled onions and a massive slab of their in house made bacon this Sammy is firIng on all cylinders. Crispy, meaty, runchy

I wasn't planning this; but, was amazing surprised! I had been invited to a micro brewery called 10 mile brewery in Long Beach. As I arrived I noticed a street vendor in front of the brewery, and after having a couple of great tasting beers. Starting to get hungry we opted to give the street food a try. It was one of the best foods that I've have tasted.. I ordered a SMOKED Meatloaf, that was the best meatloaf I have had in my 53 years of life! The most moist tender meatloaf I've have ever ate, then add the smoke flavor to it. HEAVEN!!! I also was able to sample a bourbon maple

They were unexpectedly set up today outside of Brouwerij West. I tried the Spicy Chicken Sandwich without the fries(they ran out) but it was still SO good I hope they come back again. I LOVE me some Spicy Chicken with my brew!

Hot Dog, bacon and a purple slaw, might make me change off of the traditional hotdog and sauerkraut kick.
Stop by Brouwerij West in SanPedro and grab an excellent “dog”, get either a 3 or 5 oz beer and enjoy the outdoor area.

They were having a pop-up at Liberation Brewing in Long Beach and HOLY COW it was SO GOOD. I got the spicy fried chicken sandwich with old bay fries (not pictured) and everything was perfect! The sandwich was so tasty and such a big portion I could only eat half! I had to save the rest for lunch tomorrow! I really hope to be seeing them at more events around Long Beach
