Services
BJ graduated from Tufts Veterinary School in 1993 and established Townsend Veterinary Hospital in the Old Brick Store in West Townsend in 1995. The new facility was completed in 2005, and the practice relocated one mile down Main Street to its current address in Townsend. BJ loves difficult diagnostic challenges and has a dedication to pursuing all possible options to help a patient.
Otherwise known as an "annual" exam, yearly exams are very important for protecting your furry family member's wellness and longevity. The goal of these exams is to catch diseases or problems early, to screen serious disease including lyme and heartworm disease, to discuss diet, flea & tick preventatives, and to vaccinate your pet against serious preventable diseases.
Dr. Jim Easley is our Board Certified Veterinary Surgeon. Board certification requires four years of advanced surgical training beyond the standard Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Degree. Certified surgeons must also undergo rigorous examinations by the College of Veterinary Surgeons to ensure competency in advanced surgical techniques.
In order to give the best possible medical attention, we make every effort to adhere to the following guidelines:. A true emergency such as an animal that has been injured by a car, has difficulty breathing, or has an obstructed urinary tract, will be taken immediately, with or without a previously scheduled appointment.
Our staff will contact you to confirm your appointment day and time. If you don't receive an appointment confirmation from one of our staff, an appointment has not been reserved for you. If your pet needs to be seen today, please call the office to make sure your pet's needs are attended to promptly.

All the staff are wonderful very kind, friendly and compassionate. They make you feel very welcome when you arrive for your visit. Wait times are usually pretty quick. Bj is the best, he was awesome with my female Rottweiler. Always showed her love when we came for a visit, took the time to look her over pat her and love on her. Always took the time to explain everything!! I would highly recommend this pet hospital !!!

One of our dogs was diagnosed with cancer earlier in the year. When her head started swelling late last week we took her to our primary vet who stated that this past weekend would be her last. As she was still eating and playing around the house we reached out to TVH for a second opinion. Lisa took my call and she was just awesome. She had Dr. BJ reach out to me who had our dog in for an appointment two hours later. 24 hours later our dogs swelling has gone and she's acting like her normal self. Thank you so much to Dr. BJ, Lisa and the team at TVH who went above and beyond...its great to see people

BJ is one of the best veterans. He was able to find the perfect medicine for my cat, who had so many problems that I didn't think could be fixed, he was peeing, spraying, didn't want to be patted like he was in pain,I saw my cat make a complete turn around from being a sickly unhappy cat to one that is funny and loving...Delta is my little prince who now sleeps with me every night and can't get enough loving...

I brought one of my cats here a few years ago and the staff is very helpful and caring. I brought my other cat here today who is terrified of people/can't really be held and the staff was extremely professional and caring. No hassle, my cat got her wellness check, her shots, and another issue taken care of. Super quick and friendly staff.

My golden needed both her knees operated on, tho 2 different surgeons did them, they did an excellent job, shes only 5.5 and runs around like she never had surgery. I recently switched my other, older golden and my cat over to them. They are very nice and extremely professional. Its a bit of a drive for me, but worth it!

The quality of care is perfectly fine and the staff is entirely cordial. However the price gouging is ridiculous. For a simple visit with blood work and basic antibiotic, which when i lived in NY costed around 190$ expensive but worth it. Ended up being just over 600$. None of the pricing is discussed they phrase it as basics which end up being exorbitantly expensive. My dog ended up having lyme which was diagnosed through a simple blood test and the medication alone when priced out online was a 250% mark up. We all want our pets to be healthy and will pay to do so i just do not take kindly to

The staff are the best. I have three dogs and have always received the best care from them. One of my dogs is extremely sensitive and was in for a day. Was very depressed and they went out of their way to reassure her and make her as comfortable as possible, including removing the Elizabethan collar and putting something else on that wouldn't upset her so much. I highly recommend this hospital for any of your pet's needs.
