New River Animal Hospital will continue to stay open to serve the pets of our community. Some elective procedures will be rescheduled to a later date to make room for emergent care. If you would like to discuss with us whether your appointment can wait, please call us. We will be adopting a curbside/drop-off service protocol to ensure the safety of staff and clients, both.
1. Upon arrival, please call us at 304-466-0251. If you do not have a cell phone, you may beep your car horn. 2. History and any concerns will be taken over the phone by a receptionist. Once all pertinent info has been gathered and discussed, a technician will bring your pet inside the building.

Services
Dr. Connie Hyler-Both, a 1984 graduate of Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine, moved to WV in 1988. In 1987, she was working for another practice that had a mobile clinic in Hinton, as there was no permanent practice there. She was approached by someone looking to sell a building that he thought would be a great location for a veterinary practice in Summers County.
At New River Animal Hospital, we emphasize client education, preventive medicine, semi-annual physical examinations, and vaccinations. We provide complete medical, radiological, dental, surgical, and nutritional services for cats, dogs and other small companion animals. We also provide professional grooming and boarding services.
My baby Lilly choked on her food and got severe aspiration pneumonia. Thanks to the doc (Connie) for all she has done to save her and the wonderful hospitality and comfort she gave me through the whole recovery process. I would like to commend New River Animal Hospital for the diligent services provided to my pets.
Payment is expected when services are rendered. In order to focus on our patients' needs, customer service and minimizing costs, we do not bill. We accept debit cards, credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express) checks, and cash. All cards must be signed by the owner of the card. New River Animal Hospital has partnered with Scratchpay to deliver affordable pet care to tens of thousands of pet parents.

Our animals have been going here for a few months now. We’ve had our dog neutered, our poodles groomed, our cats spayed. The staff has been extremely professional providing quality services. I’m impressed with the management of the operations at this office and the nurturing and caring posture towards their clients. I highly recommend making this your veterinarian office of choice from here on out!

My dog does not get scared going here. He always enters with his tail wagging. He is a pretty smart dog and would not go anywhere he was being mistreated or he didn't like. We have brought several of our animals here for vaccinations and examination without issue. We bring our dog to be groomed here often. We boarded him here as well. No issues. I would recommend them.

Our cat has never stepped foot outside, yet after them housing her for a week while we were on vacation, we bring her home covered in fleas.
Now, stuff happens, I get it. But when I told them about it, nothing was done. They should have asked me to bring her back and make it right. But no, they offer to sell me there flea treatment. Never again.

Wouldn't try and take a sick few weeks old feral kitty there again found in our yard in the early am.$250.00,less than 24 hrs later just trying to help a stray that passed. Need a program to help these emergency kittens/cats. Now I know why we take our animals elsewhere, reasons we left actually. I know now why animals are left unattended to in this situation, most people cannot afford to do so. Sad but it's OK we feel we did the right thing for the little fellow. RIP......UPDATE IN RESPONSE TO YOUR COMMENTS IT WASN'T OUR KITTEN I SAID ,"FERAL" MEANING WE WAS TRYING TO HELP A SICK DYING KITTY!

When my dog was sick and every other vet turned her away due to being booked up, New River Animal Hospital got her in within an hour. They took GREAT care of my baby and I could never thank them enough. They love your babies like their own and there is no better quality in a vet. Highly, highly recommend.
