David B. Shapiro is a criminal and injury lawyer driven by one overarching goal: to defend the rights and liberties of his beloved Baltimore community. The born-and-raised Baltimore native has been working in criminal and personal injury law for more than 22 years, earning a reputation for both his innovation and compassion.
There are a lot of lawyers in the Baltimore area who can point to an excellent education or favorable case results - and those things are important. After all, whether you are up against criminal charges or attempting to recover compensation for an injury, you want to make sure that your attorney knows what he or she is doing.
Here at the law offices of David Shapiro we think that making a difference in people's lives starts with having a different approach. We understand the pressures and confusion that people can encounter when confronted with being a victim of a personal injury, or when the reality of needing a criminal defense attorney arises.
Being accused of a crime-felony or misdemeanor-is a serious matter in the state of Maryland. Incarcerations, fines, and black mark on your record are all very real threats that accompany a criminal charge. It can be difficult for anyone to find jobs and lead a normal life following a conviction. A strong criminal defense attorney is often the only thing standing in between the accused and the harsh penalty of the law.
According to Maryland state law, burglary is defined as the act of entering a building, trailer, motor vehicle, aircraft, etc. without the owner's permission with the intent of stealing something (or committing another felony).

While burglary charges in Maryland are generally considered to be Class 2 felonies, should the event take place in a school or place of worship, it will be elevated to a Class 1 felony, which carries significantly harsher sentences.Like other felony charges, a conviction of burglary can result in permanent marks on the convict's record, hefty fines and/or jail time.
