We want to start by saying, the most important commitment we make as licensed cosmetologists, is to the safety of out guests. We did get the green light from the CDC, NC Governor, and NC State Board to go maskless if you've been fully vaccinated! We trust that all clients will respect these rules and guidelines that have been put into place for the safety of all clients and staff who enter Freedom Salon.

Hunter Barnes established Freedom Salon when he saw the need for a salon that connected the artist with the client. As an established stylist hailing from Washington D.C., Hunter brings almost a decade of experience directly from our nation's capital. Prior to moving to North Carolina in 2016 Hunter was voted one of the top three hair stylist, two years in a row, according to Best of D.C., Washington City Paper.
Matt has a passion for his work as a massage therapist. In 2011, Matt graduated from Pfeiffer University with a bachelors degree in Exercise Science. During that time, he went on to study massage therapy at Forsyth Tech. Matt has an extensive knowledge of kinesiology and anatomy. With his hands, he customizes each and every session to suit your specific needs.

Wow! I haven't been to a salon since February. I'm very low maintenance. I want to wash and air dry. I spend for shampoo and conditioner. Quality brushes. But- I want wash and wear or pin up.
Jasmine was perfect! Covid secure. Pampered! She listened- but more? She saw my hair- challenges and strengths. I'm very happy! It's a bit of a challenge to locate but not so difficult to make that a no go. I've made a next appointment. I'll be back again and again/ with Jasmine!

I have long curly, wavy hair, and it's frizzy. I have seen several stylists in Wilmington in the past two years, and I haven't been impressed with any of their workmanship.
I stumbled upon Hunter when I was going for a massage with someone who works out of Hunter's salon. While there, I asked Hunter to take a look at my hair for his opinion, and he asked if he could even it out with a dry cut. He didn't charge me. But I loved what he did. I have been back once since, and I plan to have him trim my hair a couple-few times a year. He is slightly higher priced than any of the
