Did you know that accreditation for animal hospitals is voluntary? Surprising, isn't it? Nearly 60 percent of pet owners believe that their pet's veterinary hospital is accredited when it is not. In actuality, only 12-15% of animal hospitals have gone through the accreditation evaluation process by the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA).
At certain stages of a pet's life medical screening tests may uncover disease which is not producing symptoms yet and can not be detected through examination. Early detection gives us the best opportunity to eliminate or alleviate the condition ensuring a long and healthy life for your pet. With preventative care, we are able to establish a reference point of what is normal for your pet.
Good dental health is vital to the overall well-being and quality of life of your pet. Nearly 85% of cats and dogs have some form of dental disease by the age of three years. Dental disease causes internal organ problems as well as extreme pain and discomfort to your pet. Good dental health will help your pet to live a longer and happier life.

They took great care of my Captain! A DLH kitty with matting issues. Had him shaved before you could say "cheese"!! No muzzle, no sedation and no biting! I am in love with you guys and how you handled my "fuss-pot"!! Thank you from the bottom of my heart! ❤

All of the vets in this practice are excellent, thorough, caring and knowledgeable. My favorite is Dr. Withers. He's been our vet for over 16 years. Simply the best.

Took my husky pup here after not having the best experience with another vet. Both the tech and Dr, Rhoades were amazing- very gentle and informative! They gave me a complete puppy info packet, a breakdown of required vs optional things, and didn’t pressure/push anything. My little guy even got his picture taken and a toy. Everyone was very welcoming as soon as you step in the door. The wait was a little long but I came at a busy time of day and it gave my pup plenty of time to settle down from being overly excited so no complaints from me.

Our family had to say goodbye to our dog today on very short notice. Dr. Berger and her staff were incredibly compassionate and thoughtful as they led us through the process. It made a very sad day just a little bit better for our family. I would give a 6 star review if I could. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart.

Our 10 year old dog started to choke and have erratic breathing. We have gone to this vet for 30 YEARS and called 45 minutes prior to close to ask if they could take a look at him. We were quickly informed that they were seeing their last appointment and we should go see the emergency vet. 30 YEARS! We were 5 minutes from their office. We have overlooked the overcharging and rudeness from the front desk staff because the vets have been great This is the last straw. You had the time. You just didn't do it. I guess it had been a long day . Garbage service for a dedicated customer. Last time

The staff are amazing here. My family and I have been going to this vet to see Dr. Withers for the last 8 years or so. We definitely recommend this vet. I've moved to Leesburg, VA for the last five years but still comes back for this vet for any none-emergency appointments. I haven't found any vets I like in northern VA area. It seems like everyone up there just wants money!

When I arrived the receptionist asked if I had brought her shot records since we were new patients, I explained to her that when I scheduled the appointment I was told someone would contact her previous vet to get those records and she just asked, "really?" seconds later, pulling my dogs record from the last vet. I really didn't appreciate her doubting the fact that one of their workers reassured me that it wasn't a problem that I had misplaced my copy of her vaccinations. We were charged $21.40 for my dogs nails to be trimmed and they cut her quick on two nails, so when she

We started taking our dog and then our cat here last year. With an older dog 12.5 yo Lhasa) requiring dental cleanings and additional growth removals, and injuries, then have been great. Earlier this our dog hurt his shoulder Friday night and when it was still bothering him Saturday, I called and we got in that morning.

Today, we were getting ready to go somewhere and our dog hurt his back leg and was falling and unable to walk normally. I called 30 minutes before they closed and told them we could be there in five minutes and we went in and the staff and Dr. Withers helped us out. Dr. Whither

The staff goes above and beyond for our pets. It's difficult and scary when you have a hurt animal but the staff does their best to ease concern and offer suggestions and alternatives. Services can be costly but the Drs have always offered alternatives. They take time to answer questions - I don't ever feel rushed. Expanded hours make appointment scheduling easier.

Many years ago we began utilizing the services of Midlothian Animal Clinic when we moved back to Chesterfield - mainly because that is where my parents took their animals for care. We have found over the years that the focus of MAC is less on care and more on the bottom line. The charges for care are EXTRAORDINARILY HIGH. Yes, my animals are worth the cost of care, but I have found another veterinary office that provide EXTRAORDINARILY loving care without the high cost.

Our family has been dealing with Midlothian Animal Clinic for over 10 years and couldn't imagine going anywhere else. Getting into see any of the vets is never a hassle or wait. This Christmas when my chocolate lab decided to actually get into some chocolate-- Nestle's vet was not only helpful and supportive, but told us what to look for, what we could expect, answered ALL of our questions and even followed up to check on her multiple times throughout the week.
As a pharmacist in the area I've also dealt with them professionally. They're not only easily accessible but they
