At River Run Animal Hospital we are about the betterment of life for our clients and their pets by serving the enduring bond between them. River Run Animal Hospital is situated between the James and Appomattox Rivers. It is from these two flowing bodies of water that have played a central and defining role in the development of Richmond Virginia that we define our identity.
Parker Nash teamed with Christine Sayed to found River Run Animal Hospital. Dr. Nash hails from Cleveland, Ohio. He received a bachelor's degree from Kenyon College and a doctorate in veterinary medicine from Ohio State College of Veterinary Medicine.
After graduating in 1994, Dr. Nash practiced emergency medicine for 15 years before transitioning to preventive medicine at Wellesley Animal Hospital where he was a able to experience the joy of develop long lasting relationships with clients throughout all their pet's life stages.In his spare time Dr. Nash enjoys photography, hiking with his wife, Dr. Sarah Nash, and repeatedly losing to his family at board games.

10/10! River Run was amazing we needed to take our lab for a urgent care visit. After contacts some vets around us in Southern Chesterfield area and everyone turned us away due to the holiday rush. I contact River Run they said they take walk ins and they were amazing, professional, treated Buster like he was their own so much so he didn't want to leave. Also very fair pricing! Worth the drive. Very pleased!

A million stars. They took great care of my spicy little husky Lydia tonight. They were patient with her and her anxiety, and were gentle with her even though she is high strung. I appreciate them so much, and am grateful to have found a Vet that is so kind and knowledgeable. The establishment was clean also. She usually left her previous vet traumatized and skittish, this time she left with a spring in her paws and her head held high. The pranciest! We will be bringing her back in the future!

The service at River Run is exemplary. I have always received excellent care for my fur baby. This weekend my dog had a critical emergency and I’m not sure if she would’ve survived anywhere else. The staff was professional and courteous and handled the situation excellently. I can’t recommend them highly enough.

Dr. Parker Nash is a wonderful vet!!! He's very knowledgeable and funny. Had to take our Lucy in and he was so sweet to her. He could have sent me home with meds and ordered more tests but he is an honest vet and I super appreciate that!! Thank you for making what could have been a horrible day a super sparkly day!!

We had an emergency situation with our dog & needed help asap All other emergency centers were full. We just showed up at River Run early on a Sunday morning after a recommendation. They brought us in almost immediately. They were so caring & professional. They took great care of our dog. They helped us to figure out the next steps & helped schedule appointments. Thankfully our dog is doing much better. River Run will be our vet from now on. Cant thank them enough for helping us.

I was able to get my long-lost cat in for an urgent care checkup at about 8pm. We were seen moments after checking in, and Dr. Nash was so sweet and kind to my terrified cat. We were able to get his microchip checked, get his rabies vaccine updated, and a round of dewormer immediately, and for a fair price. When my cat busted out of his cardboard carrier, Dr. Nash assisted me in getting him out and back in a sturdier loaner carrier. The doctors and staff here are so unbelievably kind to the pets being treated, and I have been extremely impressed with the level of care and service that my pets have

I cannot say enough good things about this group. We have a lot of dogs, and have made many a visit to RR for regular check ups, emergencies, and end of life. The docs are certainly great, but I have to say I've never been so impressed with the vet techs and overall staff. They are knowledgeable, caring, professional - simply outstanding. We, and our dogs, are very lucky to have them as our vet office.

Kind people who actually listen. Needed a new vet when my previous vet tried to tell me I let my dog walk on hot pavement because his paw pads were inflamed. He's a tiny dog so rarely does he walk, he's carried and we're aware of hot roads. Told them that wasn't the problem and they treated his paws as that was the issue. The issue did not go away. Took my dog to River Run and turns out he has an allergy. River Run is AMAZING!! They work with you, they are kind, and the prices are very reasonable. We found our new puppy doctor ❤️

River Run Veterinary Hospital is the best! Everyone on staff is so great! They're responsive and polite. They do their very best to make sure your furries are well taken care of.
Our boy, Ripley, actually loves going there. He knows they're going to make sure he stays healthy, or when he has been sick, e knows they will make him feel better quick.

This past Sunday our dog, Coach needed immediate care. Our normal Veterinarian was not open and we had to find a clinic that that could see Coach. River Run graciously made time to fit him in on Sunday before they closed. The Veterinarian and the entire staff took care of Coach and referred him to a great 24-hour ICU hospital after they took X-Rays and saw that he needed emergency care. Thank you River Run for taking care of our Coach. We highly recommend River Run Veterinary Hospital to anyone seeking the best care for their pet.

We followed Dr. Adwell here from her previous practice, and today was our first visit to River Run. As always, Dr. Adwell provided expert care in her warm, friendly manner. She took the time to answer all my questions and make sure all my concerns were addressed; the visit was not rushed, as we've sometimes experienced from other veterinary providers. I was also impressed with the veterinary assistant, Emily, who welcomed us, as well as the front desk staff. The staff here are very helpful and accommodating. I can not recommend this place enough for your pet. I called with an emergency and the receptionist was so friendly and got me an appointment for that morning. The doctor was patient and explained what was happening to my pup in a way that was easy to understand. I am so thankful I found this office.

Best vet and service ever...After moving back to the area I have struggled to find a honest and capable veterinarian. The service and care for your pet is over the top... I have a white Siberian husky that required a little special handling Mr. Nash was not only a professional but seemed to be a caring animal lover. This place is perfection. Moved here from NC where they gave 3 year rabies vaccines. I have 2 cats who are 8 years old and freak out during transport and vet visits. This vet office will allow me to opt for the 3 year rabies vaccine AND they are open late to accommodate my work hours. They took such great care of my cats and were so accommodating.

We had to take our sweet kitty, Lola, to River Run last night at 11pm when my husband found her lethargic and barely alive on our front porch. The staff and Dr Sayed were all extremely kind and empathetic... which was especially important because our 11 year old daughter was with us and extremely upset. Although our Lola was too bad off to be saved, Dr Sayed made us feel better about our decision to put her down by reassuring us that it was the best thing to do for Lola, who was in a lot of pain. The staff then gave us a book with Lola's paw print, and a lock of her hair in a small bottle

We had an excellent experience here! The front staff was very friendly and helpful during our entire visit. I came in with a large dog and two kids. They offered to help me so I could fill out new patient paperwork instead of juggling everyone. Also, everything is new and clean! We saw Dr. Sayed for an injured leg on our dog. She was very thorough and detailed in her examination and treated our dog with lots of love. While our dog requires surgery from an orthopedic surgeon, Dr Sayed gave us some surgeon recommendations and told us which ones may be more expensive than the others, all while
