Five years ago I had my 10-yr-old try Four different Dojo's, each with unique and endearing qualities. I then created a matrix of those qualities and scored each dojo in those areas. Needless to say, I'm sure you may agree that this was an important life change that would echo throughout his life and long after I am gone. Colorado Budokan ranked first in overall including patience and respect for the instructors and for the students, tradition, the Dojo and its owners, the Tsutsui family, took my son under their wing and still support anything pure that comes his way. Their technical prowess is

I have been training with the Tsutsui's for 3 years now. I researched and visited several schools before choosing to study at Colorado Budokan. I have been very happy with that decision. The teachers at Colorado Budokan provide the highest quality instruction in both traditional and sport karate. I would recommend the Tsutsui's and Colorado Budokan to anyone who wants to study Karate, at any age or health level. Thank You.

This is a great place for children to be introduced to karate. My 4 year old daughter was excited to try martial arts and the Senseis/Instructors here are great for that. Both are patient but consistent. It's a good balance of fun and discipline.

We started my son at Colorado Budokan in October of last year (2017) and we have really enjoyed it. It is a very strict environment which really teaches the kids discipline and respect. They have a good selection of times for you to come for each age group, it has a great price. I would highly recommend this karate school.

Tsusui Sensei is the greatest karate instructor of them all, and a man of the highest integrity. He has dedicated his life to the art of karate, and the development of young men and women. Tsusui Sensei embodies all that is powerful about karate- the strongest skills, the warmest heart and truest character.

I checked out many martial arts studios around the neighborhood and many of the classes for my 4 year old were taught by assistants or teenagers, not by the head instructor... Colorado Budokan was the only school where the head instructor taught to the little ones. Sense Tsutsui is the REAL DEAL and I couldn't be happier with our decision.

In 2010, I was looking to return to formal martial arts training after a 12 year absence due to school and work commitments. I looked at various dojos across the Denver metro, and even a BJJ school, but all were missing something. It wasn't until I found Colorado Budokan that I found my new dojo.

Colorado Budokan teaches kihon (basics), kata (forms), and kumite (sparring). There are a variety of classes throughout the day for children and adults. The dojo is owned and operated by the Tsutsui family, all of whom are excellent instructors in their own right. They possess a deep amount

My son began classes at the age of 5 and has been attending for almost 3 years.
The results have been outstanding. The physical conditioning, coordination, confidence, and personal values he has attained have been really impressive. He has become active in the local tournament circuit and recently won a gold medal in the 2013 Junior International Cup in Las Vegas.
Sensei Gary Tsutsui does an amazing job with the youngest of the students and the rest of the instructors are exemplary as well. The Tsutsui family that owns and operates this school are truly dedicated individuals.
