Capo By The Sea clients are immersed in a unique therapeutic environment tailored to the individual. Our counselors are highly trained in uncovering and addressing the underlying causes of addiction. A residential detoxification addiction treatment allows the individual to benefit from oversight and intervention for managing the withdrawal symptoms that will emerge during the detox process.
When going up against the nemesis of addiction it truly takes the mindset of a warrior. A residential treatment program allows you to go all in, to face down the enemy and take back your life. A residential program provides the intensity and support required to make fundamental changes in the way you think about, react to, and process daily events and triggers you will encounter.
Trauma therapy is an important aspect in healing process after experiencing a shocking or disturbing event. A trauma treatment program provides specialized therapies that help reduce the impact of the traumatic memory, allowing the individual to become less sensitive to the memories of it, as well as the people, places, or situations that may trigger the distressing memories.
While the recovery process cannot begin until the detox and withdrawal phase is completed, the prospect of going through detox in a clinical setting can be a significant barrier for many. Fortunately, home detox is an available option. By supporting the individual through the stages of withdrawal in the comfort of their home, the detox team can successfully usher them forward toward the treatment phase of recovery.

DO. NOT GO TO THIS PLACE, ALL THEY WANT IS YOUR MONEY AND THEY WILL DO ANYTHING TO GET IT. I was there for a little less than a month. The whole time I was there I was pushed to stay 3 to 4 months. They did the same thing to my family. I took Klonopin (I was prescribed this by a Dr for panic attacks) for close to 30 years. I decided that it would be a good thing to stop taking it. That's how I ended up at Capo. That was the worst decision I've ever made in my 59 years. It all started nice enough, the house I stayed at was nice and the food was good and they did get me off of klonopin

Worse place you can go. And the staff steals from you on top of everything. Seek real help not these people. They also have multiple houses so don't let them lie to you. April is the worst of them all. Think she still uses, must be why she steals.

Staff constantly subjects clients to psychological and emotional abuse -- yelling, putting down, threatening to downgrade accommodations, etc. Half of the staff members had less than 1 year of sobriety themselves and engaged with clients in a grossly unprofessional and impatient manner. Jeff in particular has a thuggish and obtuse, rude attitude - zero compassion and an arrogant pose. How they keep promoting him speaks volumes on this hack operation. Avoid!

The therapist and the counselors are amazing along with all of the office staff. Everyone truly cares for you and is willing to go out of their way to help you in any way they can. These are some of the best people I’ve ever met in my life. I would recommend Capo by the Sea to anyone who is in need of therapy or counseling. The facility is nice and clean and the house I stayed in was beautiful. The food is so good, I miss that place already. There are not enough good things I could say about this place. This place is amazing, you will not regret going there.

It was an incredible experience, not just for me but also for my husband, if I may speak on his behalf. We went there all the way across the country from NY. The place was beautiful and situated in a great neighborhood in Capistrano. The staff members became like family and they treated us with complete care and compassion. Their model for recovery is unique in that they don’t make one feel as if they’re bad or damaged, but with hope. And we never felt locked down, since after we detoxed we could go for a stroll around the neighborhood.
The wonderful part for me was that I could cook my favorite

LET THE TRUTH BE TOLD GOD WILL REVEAL THE TRUTH ABOUT THIS PLACE! Adults you are on your own but parents if you are looking at this place for your kids or young adults...like the movie GET OUT I suggest you do the same. John (the owner)hung up phone on me twice after my daughter was in the place. Why would someone get defensive if a parent asked for credentials of his operations manager? (Who never returned my calls after a staff member quit and told me to contact him for an update on my daughter.) John should be working on his owner anger management and recovery. Who wants an entire staff

I am beyond grateful for Capo by the Sea. From the time I made the decision to call them to get help, they have gone above and beyond to make my recovery possible, exciting, and successful. They have wonderful group facilitators that keep a constant theme of recovery, while creating a safe environment for clients to open up in group therapy. We get taken to many excellent 12-step meetings; the recovery in this area is over the top amazing. The houses clients live in are beautiful, beyond what words can say, and very comfortable, homey, and lively. Overall, this program has changed my life forever

Capo by the Sea helped save my life about five years ago. I entered the program and was helped thru the detox process from alcohol by their trained staff. The staff at Capo are very professional, knowledgeable and caring. The program was fun and we had outings to the beach, wonderful food and a supportive environment in the house. They tolerated some of my crazy behavior back then and helped me get back on my feet. Thank you Capo by the Sea staff and owner!

The staff is amazing. Addie and Rob made sure every client was taken care of, listened to me when i struggled and helped as best they could. I can’t say enough about those two, they’re really awesome. And the house was beautiful, the counselors and therapists caring and knowledgeable. Jeff is possibly the single most hardworking individual I have ever met. Anytime a client needed help, he was there. Really a great place to go and find sobriety and serenity. Truly grateful for my time there.

I was a opiate user for 25 years and was told by doctors that I could die if I ever tried to detox. I chose by the sea and that was the best decision I've ever made. The staff was incredibly helpful and loving and was just what I needed to recover and begin a new life. In particular Jeff, was one of the best assets and cheerleaders I had while I was there, he is truly amazing and a life long friend. I recommend kappa to anyone dealing with addiction, they really care and helped me through the most difficult times of my life successfully. I am eternally grateful to all at Cappo

My family decided to send my sister to this program and it was absolutely amazing. The facilities are beyond clean, private and relaxing. The staff especially in the detox and Capo house are knowledgeable, compassionate, respectful, and keep the atmosphere very light and sometimes even fun. Even more awesome is that you can actually bring your dog. I love this place because they understood my sister wasn't the only person she hurt and it put our family back together ❤️

My own experience with this company did not turn out very good at all.
The owner John Kahal is a very slick salesman and he was aware that I was very emotional and I feel he took advantage of where I was at the time emotionally.
He kept changing the prices for me to stay at the facility. I agreed to go and my experience turned out to be anything but good.
The day that I checked in I saw a doctor who didn't even take my blood pressure or listen to my heart. We just wrote him a check for his services. The next day they took me to a Dr. Kaufman who in my opinion is nothing more than a "

After I posted my review, Capo By The Sea attempted to indimidate me into taking down my honest post about my experience there. They began bullying me on yelp posing as a lawyer threatening me to take down my "false lies" and saying "the first amendment doesn't cover your right to say these things" (yes it does, this is literally the REAL LIFE experience I endured at the facility).

Then, when I refused to relent, the organization began sending "Cease and Desist" letters to my parents in order to get them to indimidate me into taking down my post.

I'm clean and it was for Caity, Jeff and Josh who helped with my detox which was essential to rebooting my recovery and getting back to my life with clear open eyes etc. I had gone through this place 5 years ago and was expecting a different yet similar outcome. I expected to be in intimate groups where we gained solution and were around the same small circle again and again. I expected to have a counselor that would see me once a day to check in on my recovery and process. I DID NOT want history to repeat itself where the clinical director who was married hit on me and proceeded to have a

This was my first and hopefully my last rehab experience. It felt like being a part of a family and that was a big plus for me. Kent, Addie, Rob, Josh, Caitlyn , Jerry and Jeff will always be in my heart. I agree with another review that talking with the staff was very important in my recovery.
I do have to agree that the schedule changes, waiting around for van rides and the confidentiality issues were at times difficult to handle. And whatever you do, don't give Jacqueline your insurance and debit card or you will never see it again!!! Also, do not expect a paid trip home or even to the

I stayed at Capo by the Sea from August until October when I was "kicked out" due to not having a sponsor. However the house manager Jackie and house manager Jeff are a pair as well as Katie and Josh at the detox house. Which is highly unprofessional in itself. I was treated horribly, as well as other clients there. Because of the unprofessionalism of staff dating staff and it causing problems for clients I would ABSOLUTELY not recommend this place. I was screamed at and told to get out, and they put me on the street with all my suitcases in front of the detox house, I also never signed

I had a great experience at Capo, it saved my life literally.. the only reason I give it 3 stars is because the house managers Jeff, Jerry, Caity.. those three are the reasons I have hope and still have breath in my body, the program however wasn't so great. The schedule changed daily it seemed like, the number one answer to any complaint if you weren't cash pay was if you don't like it you can leave.. the house managers are what make Capo and you will get 10 times more out of conversations with them then you will ever get with the counselor or therapist.
