The Waterfront Restaurant is locally owned and operated by island natives Susan and Scot Flowers. The Flowers' name upholds four generations in the Edisto seafood industry. Growing up Scot could be found running the family's fresh seafood shop or on the back of his dad's shrimp boat, who was a shrimper for 44 years.

From the shrimp boat to his mother Doris Flowers' kitchen, Scot developed a different approach to seafood. In 2001, Scot opened the Waterfront Restaurant to share his family's history of providing the island with great food. The original location of The Waterfront overlooked Big Bay Creek, hence the name.
Services
A juicy half pound of certified angus beef grilled to perfection and served on a brioche bun. Sliced prime rib steak, onions, and Monterey jack cheese piled high on a hoagie roll and served with au jus. Fried flounder filet served in a flour tortilla with cheddar cheese, shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, and pico de gallo.
Made from scratch daily, full of lump crab meat and finished with a touch of sherry, It's a Waterfront favorite! Fettuccini pasta tossed in creamy alfredo sauce & topped with grilled shrimp or chicken & parmesan cheese. Pan sauteed scallops simmered in a cream sauce with shallots, roasted tomatoes, & bacon then served over a bed of fettuccini noodles.

Four star pricing with two star food. Breakfast buffet was typical of a Hilton garden inn maybe more real food as opposed to microwave food but that was about the differentiator. Nice little atmosphere with a nautical theme and windowed views. Relaxed atmosphere as you would expect at Edisto Beach.
The wait staff was friendly however the conditions were not overly sanitary and very much akin to perhaps a shoney's after 3 hours of breakfast buffet. The glass for my drink had rice and other food debris stuck to the side. This was the same for the silverware and iced tea cups. When I attempted to

This was our first visit there as we stopped in for lunch. My wife & I both had the Shrimp Po Boy. We both agreed one of the best Po Boys we've ever had! The bread they used was very good and we each of us had plenty shrimp. The Fries were good as well - kind of a unique shape, but flavorful. Our waitress did a great job as well. If you visit Edisto Island I would certainly recommend this for a lunch stop!

Although this is off season, the restaurant was busy.the food selection is great and better yet very good. My husband loved the fried flounder and the shrimp creole was delicious with a good amount of large shrimp in it. The chocolate cake was outstanding and definitely big enough for two.

We absolutely love Edisto Beach! This restaurant is an excellent place to eat. Our party size was 3. We arrived at 4:45 as they opened at 5. There was quite a line. However, everyone was seated by 5:20 and the food was on! I enjoyed the Flowers Feast: flounder, shrimp, scallops(the best anywhere I've eaten), oysters with fresh steamed zucchini and squash and a baked potato. SOOOOO GOOOOD! Their sweet tea is delicious. Our waitress was wonderful and attentive with such a full house. I highly recommend if you're ever in the area.

I've always loved this local restaurant owned by Scott flowers. The food was absolutely great and the service was awesome. There wasn't a wait for me it was only for parties three and more but they seem to be moving pretty fast. I did enjoy the atmosphere as it was very clean and everyone that was working was wearing their mask. I had the fish tacos and the calamari but you can't beat seafood on an island. Stop by and grab something or order out. Thank you and of course I'll be back

Very good experience at The Waterfront. Our flounder and oysters very good. We substituted sweet potato fries with an up charge and had to send back as they were very cold. They were promptly replaced with fresh ones. All together a good experience.

We came here specifically so I could have the snow crab legs, which are hard to find on Edisto Island. We read another review to get there early for dinner. We got there at 4:45 and it opened at 5 and there were already 5 or 6 couples ahead of us. We got right in, however, when we left, it was an hour+ wait, so definitely go early unless you don't mind a wait. I was so excited to eat the crab legs that I didn't get a great picture, but they were delicious. The rest of our party got Prime Rib, another chicken, and shrimp. It was cooked to order and tasted great. The vegetables were not cooked well

First and last visit. We were seated and waited 20 minutes to get our drinks; water wasn't even immediately brought out. We were thirsty after hiking, so this was a bit irritating. They ran out of what seemed like half of the items on the menu, including only having oranges and cantaloupe remaining for a fruit side.
The appetizer came out but we still had no silverware. I ended up asking the hostess for silverware and then she said she had to go get them from the back because they had none rolled up front. (They weren't that busy and isn't that a closing task?) I also had to get up and ask, later

In my opinion, this restaurant is probably about a 3.5 star place. The food was okay, but the super friendly staff pushed it to 4 stars for me. We were there in early March, so it was not busy. We felt that the prices were a bit high for similar meals at other restaurants, but not out of the ballpark. The stuffed flounder had a crab cake inside that was not lump meat crab. (It's hard to find that anywhere though, to be fair. All the restaurants claim "Maryland style" and they are always full of fillers.) The portions were hearty, and the baked potato that I had with a generous plate of grilled
