Howard A. Birmiel earned his law degree from the University of Baltimore in 1975 and established himself as a well-known practitioner of real estate, small business, and bankruptcy law in Northern Virginia. Mr. Birmiel chaired the Coalition to Retain Independent Services in Settlements in 1992 and served as a director of the Virginia Real Estate Attorneys League.

As far as law firms go this company gives lawyers and law firms a very bad wrap. In the course of over a year I have reached out to the firm to resolve an error on a property deed and I have constantly gotten no email response. When I do call the office I get the run around answer of “we plan on looking into it” , “ I have your file on my table “ and yet completely no resolution. This has been going on for over a year. The firm is highly unprofessional so I decided to use another lawyer. Would not recommend this firm

We were able to get a hold of Mr. Birmiel at 7PM. He was thoughtful, experienced, and insightful in helping us get things right on a real estate deal. He didn't jump to a conclusion and carefully listened to make sure he got the facts right. We will use him again but much earlier in the transaction.

Post closing celebration with my clients. Howard has been my real estate settlement attorney for 30 years. If he was not the best at what he does I would not refer him to my real estate clients.
