Most of us plan ahead in life. We plan for our wedding, our children's education, family vacations, and other significant expected life events. We also plan for the unexpected events of life by purchasing home, auto and medical insurance. Understanding the benefits of pre-planning has prompted many to take the step to plan their own arrangements.
Many who have undergone the emotional strain of arranging a funeral within hours of losing a loved one have made the choice to pre-plan their own funeral or that of a loved one. Doing so lifts the burden from their loved ones by relieving decision-making pressure at a time of grief and emotional stress.
Most of us are not prepared to plan and carry out a funeral ceremony for someone we love. And so much of the information available on this critically important subject fails to focus on what is most important: having a personalized, meaningful funeral that helps families and friends begin the healing process of mourning after the death of someone we love.
Someone you love has died. You are now faced with the difficult, but important, need to mourn. Mourning is the open expression of your thoughts and feelings regarding the death and the person who died. It is an essential part of healing. The following articles provide many practical suggestions to help you move toward healing in your unique grief journey.

Don’t go through this alone, CALL BRIAN KURATKO at CONBOY-WESTCHESTER! We were lost, and Brian thought of everything...even the smallest details. He and his father Ken, who is an amazing celebrant, will forever be part of our family. It felt like they took us under their wings, made the what could easily be the worst day of our lives into a beautiful, peaceful, loving experience. I could go on and on. Thank you to the ORIGINAL Kuratkos for giving us the perfect celebration of our mother’s life. We will never forget it. 💙

What can I say, there are truly no words that can describe the uplifting experience my family had Conboy-Westchester Funeral Home in Westchester, IL. They deserve 10 stars!!! The initial meeting with Brian Kuratko to coordinate my mother’s funeral arrangement was incredible. Beyond professional, he was able to help us navigate the process from picking funeral memorial prayer cards, picking the church readings, reviewing the obituary publication to the coffin style from start to finish for the funeral arrangements. The information given to Brian, he personalized the funeral arrangements to match

After learning of the tragic passing of my Father, my sisters & I had to search for a funeral place. None of us had ever planned a wake & burial & let me tell you, this is not easy. Conboys Westchester Funeral service was our last meeting of a long day. There were so many decisions amongst 6 sisters. Matthew was there through it all. His patience & sincerity really helped us 6 sisters get through what has been one of the most difficult time of our lives. Matthew was very professional, knowledgeable, kind & understanding. I am very grateful & thankful to Matthew and his staff. Character goes a long

We lost our dad so abruptly this place was our last one of the day. It’s been very hard for all 6 of his daughter’s coming here and meeting Matthew was a blessing from above. This man made everything remarkable for us to feel welcomed. He was attentive to everything we had to say and everything we desired. He gave us all the time that we needed. What a Gentleman just how our dad was ❤️
I know Our father is pleased for what you did for all his daughter’s . We just want you to know how very appreciative and forever grateful we are for everything you did. Thank You to all the Westchester

Owners horrible, people in the office horrible. And they wonder why everyone uses associate funeral directors instead them all the time. Cause they are crazy. I went to a friends service there. And while I was there, we were in the 'biggest' chapel. It was so small everyone felt uncomfortable. The ladies that were at the wake made people uncomfortable, is it necessary to be staring at someone in the lounge. The person's daughter i went for. They were more disappointed. I emailed the owners no response yeah and clean your bathrooms . If you really love your loved one dont being them to this hell

I could not say more positive things about this funeral home if I wanted to. I truly mean that. This funeral home is beautiful and very well kept up. They have done a wonderful job of modernizing it over the years. The lounge has beautiful granite countertops and is very spacious! We worked with Peter. He is an absolute godsend. He pays very close attention to detail and knows all of the right things to say! He is such an asset to the Conboy Funeral Home team. My Grandfather was laid to rest in "Chapel C." The room had the most beautiful stained glass windows. Additionally, it was

It is really an unfortunate occasion that brings one to a funeral home. When you enter, the office is to your left, viewing parlors to the right. As you walk toward the viewing parlors, there are short halls that lead back to a cross hall where the lounge and restrooms are located. There are stained glass windows along the hall and also in Parlor A. With the sun shining through, it was quite peaceful. There is a small parking lot located on the west side of the building and then another parking lot located across the street on the east side. Take precaution when exiting the lots onto Cermak
