Services
The caring and experienced professionals at Burnham-Ours are here to support you through this difficult time. We offer a range of personalized services to suit your family's wishes and requirements. You can count on us to help you plan a personal, lasting tribute to your loved one. And we'll carefully guide you through the many decisions that must be made during this challenging time.
When it comes to your final arrangements, shouldn't you make the decisions? The arrangements you make will reflect your exact wishes and desires. Pre-arranging your own service will help to ease the burden of your loved ones. It will also alleviate any questions, problems or differences, which can occur among family members.
The basic Military Funeral Honors (MFH) ceremony consists of the folding and presentation of the United States flag to the veterans' family and the playing of Taps. The ceremony is performed by a funeral honors detail consisting of at least two members of the Armed Forces. The Funeral Honors rendered to you or your veteran will be determined by the status of the veteran.
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) furnishes upon request, at no charge to the applicant, a Government headstone or marker for the unmarked grave of any deceased eligible veteran in any cemetery around the world, regardless of their date of death. When the grave is already marked, applicants will have the option to apply for either a traditional headstone or marker, or a new device (available spring 2009).
A United States flag is provided, at no cost, to drape the casket or accompany the urn of a deceased veteran who served honorably in the U. S. Armed Forces. It is furnished to honor the memory of a veteran's military service to his or her country. Generally, the flag is given to the next-of-kin, as a keepsake, after its use during the funeral service.

My husband just recently passed away in August. From the time he was picked up from the hospital, to the meetings with Tom Kolstad, to the elegant coffin with a superb flower cascade, to the special keepsake book and funeral leaflets, to the well appropriated wake setting with as many picture boards as we needed, and socially distanced chair settings, to well placed flowers, plants and mementos,, to a dignified visitation and church service with lovely music, to a brief but meaningful graveside service, our family was treated with kindness and compassion and efficiency. A sincere thank you from

My uncle donated his body to Mayo Clinic so when he passed B-O Funeral home went to his house 6 blocks away to get his body. They charged my Aunt over $800.00 for that 6 block ride. If they had called either Spooner or Rice Lake it would of been half that price. The woman in charge was also very, very cold and rude. My Aunt and cousin even had to help her carry him out of the house. She even called the next morning and told them the cost and wanted her money brought over immediately or she could come there and get it. If at all possible avoid this funeral home at all costs or it will most likely

We have used this funeral home for years. They were always excellent and comforting. Since the new owners, it is not even close to the same level of excellent customer care. My stepdad passed away a couple years ago and we were distraught over their treatment. Anytime we stopped in or called, we were treated coldly and with annoyance. After my stepfather’s service, some people had left and others were milling about, preparing to leave. I believe it had been maybe 10 minutes since the service ended. The employee comes up to me and says we need to take our poster boards of pictures down immediately
