SF Gelateria
My obsession with sweet culinary delights brought me around the world. In Italy, I, like most Italians and tourists, indulged in gelato on a daily basis with no regard to the weather or time of day. What is it about gelato that makes it so alluring? How have the Italians perfected ice cream? These questions brought me to Gelato University to find answers.

I learned that memorable food brings us together and that all of the best experiences are sweeter when shared, so I started SF Gelateria. This mobile gelato shop serves gelato using italian techniques, but with a Californian twist, leveraging natural ingredients and global inspirations. We will take you on a culinary journey with Italian classics, American favorites, and exotic global flavors.

We had SF Gelateria for our wedding and they were amazing! So many guests commented on the gelato cart and all of their flavors were amazing. Would 10/10 recommend them!

I recommend only considering the small size. If you get a medium or large, be ready to be disappointed that it's the same volume as the small. We seriously weighed them outside to confirm. That said, it really depends on who's working as to whether or not the sizes will contain different amounts of gelato. I was so disappointed several times and regret not learning my lesson the first time.

I want to share with you a place that I found while I was walking on Broadway. A fascinating gelateria, their products are very natural and with a unique flavor. We tried dark chocolate (dairy free) mango sorbet and pistachio. 100% recommended. Let's support our local businesses!!

I tried their non-dairy chocolate ice cream, mango sorbetto, and strawberry sorbetto. The ice cream was 3.5/5 but their sorbettos we 5/5! I also love the fact that they only use paper cups and wooden spoons. Even the gloves they use are compostable! I am very happy that they make it possible for me to enjoy a treat without creating plastic waste that would pollute our planet for 100s of years.

The four stars are for the mango sorbetto and the strawberry sorbetto. Both tasted of the actual fruit flavor and the texture was perfect- icy, smooth, and sticky (not sure if that's the best word to describe it but it was... sticky). I was able to do two flavors in the 1 scoop (piccolo) which was the perfect size and the employee was friendly and patient when I was sampling flavors. I sampled a few other flavors but did not like them (pistachio, honey lavender, triple berry).

We popped in for gelato on a Sunday afternoon and were quite pleased!

The gelato was delicious (I had the pistachio flavor, and my husband and daughter each had the chocolate) and the service was fast and friendly.

The outdoor seating was lovely and felt Covid safe. My 3 year old was thrilled by the wooden rocking horse and kid-size picnic bench they had available.

The only thing that made me a bit Covid nervous was the fact that they are allowing customers to taste samples before picking a gelato. While I loved doing this pre-pandemic, this doesn't seem very Covid-safe to me. The

Unsure why the 5 stars here, maybe diff preferences in taste. This is definitely NOT gelato, more like ice cream.

.:: Sweets ::.

$4.75 1 scoop Piccolo: I got half tiramisu and half triple berry. Tiramisu was very chunky with dry dry dry pieces of "cake" overall weird taste, not very cohesive and a bit too sweet. The triple berry was fruity in flavors but the taste didnt wow me at all.

.:: service/ ambiance/ parking ::.
Service was meh. Cashier wasnt too enthusiastic. Came on a Sunday night around 7-8pm about 1 party in front waited about 10 min.

The place is small, no dine in.

I would give 3.5 stars if a half-star was allowed. Similar to other "gelato" places in the area, this one doesn't seem to know how the texture of gelato is meant to be. This is basically ice cream with the gelato name on it! I had the gianduja (chocolate hazelnut), which had tasty flavor, but you are only allowed to get ONE flavor in a small (another perk of real gelato shops is that you can usually select 2-3 flavors, since it's soft and easy to smoosh into a cup). The wooden spoon was also a huge turn-off and made my gelato taste like wood.

I wouldn't return, simply

Daily rotations through different, amazing flavors! Very unique combinations and reasonable prices compared to regular ice cream shops that get their ice cream shipped to them. Some favorites so far have been milk tea, crema, dulce de leche, honey lavender and blueberries, saffron rosewater, chai. They keep a board by the take home pints fridge where you can vote for their next flavor.

Was looking for something sweet after dinner and happened upon this gelato place. It wasn't too crowded when we arrived and we were able to try the flavors before deciding what to order. Some flavors were available as single scoops while other were only available in pints.

I ordered a single scoop of the tiramisu gelato and enjoyed that there were actual bits of tiramisu mixed into the gelato, instead of it being merely tiramisu-flavored. There were some interesting flavors available in the pints that I wish I could have tried, like milk tea, black sesame, and earl grey, but they weren&apos

TLDR: Gluten Free gelato with compromises. Still the best in Redwood City.
9/11/21, Saturday ~8:00pm

Worth a Visit? YES. Redwood City has a serious lack of dessert option after dinner.
Worth a dedicated visit? NO. Traditional gelato just hits harder.
Worth the price ~$5? YES. It gets the job done

(2.5/5) Ube Gelato (single scoop): Nice and creamy texture. Very mild flavor. Even more mild than a standard vanilla. Some hints of Ube, though you couldn't identify it with your eyes closed. Very light coloring (no artificial colors). A safer/standard flavor would have likely been better.

Why would you go to Baskin-Robbins when you can come here for a higher quality frozen treat? They had lovely flavors which they rotate through each day. Gourmet gelato with unique palettes for your palate. Honey lavender with blueberries was delicate, light and floral that had me thinking of an elegant English tea party in the garden at spring. Milk tea tastes amazingly true to the original Taiwanese golden tea with nondairy creamer you get at a boba shop. It was very creamy and indulgent without feeling heavy. I bet it would go nicely with chocolate pieces mixed in.

An added bonus that the serving

The ice cream here makes me so happy! Gelato texture is thick and smooth. I had the chocolate hazelnut and it tastes like an elevated version of Nutella and how can that be bad.
They offer lots of interesting flavors and they do change their flavors which I think it's a good move and makes me want to come back regularly.
Also they do have sugar cones, but they just don't put them out or advertise it.....

Home made gelato! Downtown Redwood City finally has a gourmet dessert establishment open after 5pm.

All flavors taste exactly like its said name which is a great culinary feat unto itself! Amazing pistachio, Dulce de leche ( tastes like the cake) yogurt flavor is unique ( tastes like the famous Yakult Asian yogurt drink which is popular among children in every Asian country but found at Whole Foods and even target these days ) The chocolate is very authentic right down to the finish which is bittersweet. It's authentic even to the finish as if it were a fine wine.

Soft opening June through

SF Gelateria catered a Sweet Sixteen birthday party at our house. The kids, and adults, absolutely loved it! We did four classic Italian Gelatos and two Sorbets for a sunny hot day in San Jose. Working with SF Gelateria was seamless and will definitely have them again for future parties. Thank you SF Gelateria!

Wonderful new Gelateria in downtown Redwood City. Soft opening now but the made from scratch gelatos are awesome! Just had the raspberry, fresh off the machine. Unique flavors like honey lavender and dulce de leche are scrumptious. I especially enjoyed the affogato (expresso over gelato).

Located in downtown Redwood City across from Pho Dong, there's only street metered parking or a Caltrains parking lot. Very small shop w/ 2 small indoor tables and a few tables in the parklet. Ask for a loyalty scoop card to get a free Medio cup after your 10th purchase. They're unable to post their flavors on their social media because the owner said they change it multiple times a day due to availability since they make the ice cream in the shop. You can also vote for upcoming flavors on the white board in the left side of the shop.

Plan to eat immediately as the ice cream starts melting

Okay. Like wow!!! I had the triple berry and cookies and cream.

Both are amazing.

Just found out that since they make the gelato on site, they do this with half the fat of other gelato's and using the game by delivering an amazing taste.

Great service.

Passed by about a week ago and it wasn't opened yet. This week they have a soft opening sign up.

My friend and I were so excited to try their offerings. We were stumped on what to get but they offer samples and Paul told us they just made the blood Orange (vegan) that day. I sampled black sesame, lychee (vegan), and blood Orange. I got 2 scoops of the 2 sorbettos and took home a pint too. My friend loved it so much that she got 1 single scoop of blood Orange, then ordered another cone afterwards for latte. She took home 2 pints too!

We are already making plans to come back later this week
