Legal services are not affordable for many working Iowans. The gap in affordable legal services is well documented. According to a 2015 survey complete for the Iowa State Bar Association, "the median hourly rate charged by all [Iowa] attorneys in private practice is $199". Community Lawyers of Iowa (CLI) is dedicated to increasing access to civil legal services through the use of siding-scale fees, limited scope representation and self-help assistance. We provide high quality legal representation in areas of immigratation, family and probate. Our attorneys have over two decades of combined experience effectively representing clients in all stages of litigation.
Handled cases from opening to closing in several types of law including but not limited to Landlord/Tenant, Family, Disability, Consumer, and Termination of Welfare and Unemployment Benefits. Providing legal services for the elderly population including dissolution of marriage, wills, power of attorney, and guardianship.
Community Lawyers of Iowa is committed into increasing access to legal services for lower income Iowans. Because of this commitment, we will adjust our normal hourly rate to account for the size of your household and your household income.
