Successful projects begin with comprehensive preliminary studies and evaluation reports. The preliminary phase investigation should access the current systems and define any inadequacies or substandard components. Once the inadequacies are defined, DG staff can compare alternative solutions to resolve the deficiencies and fulfill the project objectives.
The staff at DG has decades of experience in the process and civil design of both large and small scale surface water treatment systems in New England. DG subcontracts with other associates for specialized engineering tasks including electrical, mechanical, and structural engineering. DG has working relationships with many architectural firms and can pull the best team together for a specific project.
In New England, most of the water main networks first went into service in the early 1900's. In many municipalities, this water main is still providing service today; even after a century of use. However, cast iron water main installed prior to 1950 almost always was installed without an internal cement coating to prevent internal corrosion.
DG specializes in the evaluation and application of emerging and new technologies for municipal wastewater applications. DG can assist with the design and engineering services during construction with treated wastewater recycle systems to reduce on site disposal area requirements.
The staff at DG has taken the lead in the evaluation and application of membrane systems to produce a tertiary quality wastewater effluent at a significant capital cost savings. There are many wastewater treatment alternatives available today to double or quadruple the capacity of old technology wastewater treatment plants without geographical expansion or abandoning concrete structures and utilities.
