Andorra Optics

Andorra Optics provides expertise over the whole range of product development, from concept to final systems testing. An important concept implemented in today's product development cycle is design for fabrication. During the early design and analysis stages, the parameters for cost effective fabrication are included requiring knowledge of the fabrication process not only on the component level but also on the system level.

Andorra Optics has OSLO(R) and ZEMAX(R) optical design software in-house as well as AutoCAD for opto-mechanical design and MathCAD for mathematical modeling and analysis. We are also available for on-site work at your facility to solve problems with product development, prototypes, and assembly. Specific design capabilities are listed below.

We have over 20 years of experience working with lasers and laser systems. A typical system includes some laser source, thus it is essential to understand laser beam propagation and the properties of gaussian beams as well as standard lens design techniques. In addition to micro-objectives for optical disk systems, another specialty in this area is F-theta scanning lenses for printing and marking applications.

Andorra Optics has designed lenses for a wide variety of applications that span the spectrum, from the UV to the far IR. In the UV, we have designed Fabry-Perot imaging spectrometers for astronomical work. Visible systems have included intra-oral cameras for dental work, plastic lens systems for general imaging, and null lenses for interferometric testing.

The Andorra Optics staff has been involved in optical product development for over 25 years. In this time, we have produced products that range from telescope systems for guidance to data storage to dental cameras. In most of these cases, this involved creating a design concept and then building a prototype to test out the concept.
