The custom of caring for the deceased and honoring a life passed dates back to the beginning of civilization. Funeral service rituals offered a way for the living to grieve the loss of a loved one and find some type of closure. Even today, funeral services are a very important part of the healing process.
Planning your own funeral may make some people a little uneasy, but many are finding that preparing for the inevitable is a wise decision. In fact some seven million Americans have pre-arranged their funeral, relieving their loved ones of many difficult and emotional decisions. It is truly a gift to those left behind.
The basic Military Funeral Honors (MFH) ceremony consists of the folding and presentation of the United States flag to the veterans' family and the playing of Taps. The ceremony is performed by a funeral honors detail consisting of at least two members of the Armed Forces. The Funeral Honors rendered to you or your veteran will be determined by the status of the veteran.
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) furnishes upon request, at no charge to the applicant, a Government headstone or marker for the unmarked grave of any deceased eligible veteran in any cemetery around the world, regardless of their date of death. When the grave is already marked, applicants will have the option to apply for either a traditional headstone or marker, or a new device (available spring 2009).

My husband passed away in 2017. I cannot remember if I posted a review our not so I figured better late than never.
I cannot express how awesome the entire staff was during this difficult time. They showed my family and I so much respect and kindness. They also asked questions about things that we were to in shock to think of during this time. In all things I give them 5 stars. That type of respect is difficult to find these days.
Thank you Carolina Funeral Home.

My husband Ron died in March of 2020. The staff of Carolina Funeral Home were professional and empathetic. Also, they have kept in contact throughout this year with timely information about grief support. And today I received a beautiful porcelain In Remembrance ornament with his name and dates inscribed. So thoughtful.
