Prevention and early detection are the key to avoiding tooth decay and gum disease. A good home regimen, in addition to regular cleanings and exams, can prevent many expensive dental treatments. Prevention starts with controlling plaque, a colorless bacteria that sticks to the surface of your teeth, and calculus, a harder mineral deposit.
Enhancing the smile's aesthetic appearance can lead to increased self-confidence, improved social skills, and even a more positive outlook on life. Modern cosmetic dentistry merges advanced technology with fine art, and can often produce amazing results in less time than you would expect. Customized trays are filled with a whitening gel and worn in the mouth for as little as 1 hour per day.
Almost everyone will experience tooth decay at some point in his or her life. Swift detection and correction of tooth decay can minimize the significant expenses and inconveniences associated with more serious problems caused by tooth decay. Restorative dentistry treats all phases of tooth decay, from simple cavity fillings to entire tooth replacements.
Crowns and conventional bridges or dentures may not be your only options when replacing missing teeth. Dental implants offer a smile that looks and feels very natural. Surgically placed below the gums over a series of appointments, implants fuse to the jawbone and serve as a base for individual replacement teeth, bridges or a denture.

This was my first time at Dr. Nelson's office, and it was a great experience. I don't have dental insurance, so due to financial restrictions, I haven't been to a dentist in a number of years. The staff was absolutely wonderful and did an amazing job walking me through my appointment. The paperwork was very thorough, so they were able to get a good background from me & any questions/concerns I had were answered right away. Dr. Nelson did a wonderful job going over any work I needed to get done, as well as a plan for the future. I also didn't feel as if he was over recommending anything, which is

Dr. Nelson is a GREAT dentist and has taken care of my family for many years. One winter morning, I was waiting with my children for the school bus at the end of our driveway. Just as the bus was about to pull up, my daughter slipped in the snow and chipped her front tooth on the concrete. I took a quick look, brushed her off and told her she was OK to get on the bus. My daughter then dropped her book bag and went crying to her mother.
We called Dr. Nelson's office when it opened at 9:00 AM. He got us right in and had my daughter taken care of and back to school before lunch. True story! Dr. Nelson
