UPDATE: Derek immediately made contact with me after my initial review and the remainder of my communication was with him and he was VERY responsive, clear in his communication and was able to take a look at my trees within a couple days AND treated them for insects while there. The cost for the treatment was by far competitive and I was more than happy to use Derek, The Arborist. Thank you Derek for everything!!

Derek came and pruned my two cherry trees this year and last and did a wonderful job both years. He left the area clear of debris and was responsive to questions and was able to get me in quickly! He diagnosed and treated my distressed tree showing gummosis. Hopefully I get cherries this year!

My husband and I have used Derek to treat our trees for several years now and he is fantastic!
We live on 11 acres with several different varieties of trees that require good care and maintenance.
He has brought back numerous trees that were infested with bugs and on the verge of dying and has helped maintain their health since.
He is very fair with his pricing and doesn't price gouge us as many other companies would since we live in Elk, Washington and are a good 40 minute drive north of Spokane.

I do not recommend this Arborist. He charged a HUGE fee and did 15 minutes worth of spraying. When I went out to check his work, I discovered he only sprayed the front half of the tree trunks and went up only 4’. The treatment was for needle blight on my aspen firs. When I inquired why only the front 1/2 of the trees were sprayed he became angry and said I was accusing him of not knowing his business. My husband came out and this arborist yelled at him too. We tried to explain all we wanted was information, but he would not listen and angrily left.

Derek was very knowledgeable. He was able to diagnose most of the issues my trees were having on site and that which he was unable, he researched and got back to me in a timely manner with answers. I have now used The Arborist on three different occasions. I have several properties and a list of professional contractors I trust and call on for help. I will be adding The Arborist to that list.

I had multiple companies attempt to diagnosis my tree problem with not one getting back with me with an answer. Derek knew instantly what the problem was and how to treat it. In addition he trimmed a over grown weeping birch that now looks like a piece of art in my front yard.
His customer service is exceptional. I will use his services in the future and refer to my friends and neighbors.
