The American Academies of Pediatric Dentistry And Pediatrics recommend children should visit the dentist within 6 months of the first tooth erupting, no later than 12 months of age. Early preventative care gives children the best chance at being cavity-free. Studies have shown that compared to children that started dental care at age 1, those that started later ended up with more expenses and required more treatment.
The office attempts to schedule appointments at your convenience and when time is available. Please note that it is our policy to schedule preschool children in the morning. We have found that children are more alert and less stressed in the morning helping to ensure a more positive experience.
Since appointment times are reserved exclusively for each patient, we kindly ask for a 24 hour notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your child's appointment.This way we can give the allotted time to another patient in need of an appointment. We are aware of unforeseen events, but we ask you for your cooperation in this matter.

Fill out the forms as completely as possible and bring them with you to your child's first visit. We look forward to seeing you and making your child's smile even more beautiful!
Payment for services rendered is due at the time dental treatment is provided. We do except cash, check, Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express. There is a $35.00 fee for ALL returned checks. You are responsible for any balance left outstanding on the account after 30 days, whether the insurance has paid or not.

My boys love Sunset Dentistry and always look forward to their next appointment. Everyone from the front office staff to the dental hygienists are always friendly and do all they can to make sure my boys are comfortable. They communicate well with them to let my boys know what they are doing and they make their exams quick but thorough. Dr. Kathy is great with kids and always great about updating parents on what kids need to work on and what looks good. I always appreciate our drama free dentist appointments at Sunset Dentistry!

When we first started going to Sunset Children's Dentistry 5 years ago, we loved it. Small office feel, my kids always had the same hygienist and saw Dr. Kathi.
The last couple appointments were anything but warm feels. It's definitely all about numbers and we don't even see the same people anymore, including doctor. Everyone barely speaks to you now, and they have attitude when they do, especially if you don't do exactly what they want you to. They also do not offer self pay discount and are very pricey. But the last straw was our last appointment, recently. They say my son

My children LOVE Sunset Children’s Dentistry. All of the staff, dental assistants, and Dr. Kathi are wonderful! My 1.5 yo daughter is very shy and reluctant of strangers. Especially if they are going to touch her. The hygienist and Dr. Kathi were so gentle and understanding. She did great! No fear from my kiddos. They look forward to the dentist every time!

Excellent pediatric dentist. Dr. Kathi Sample is genuine, kind and very knowledgeable. She is warm and caring to her patients. All of the staff I have encountered have also been very kind and encouraging to their young patients. The office is fun and kid-friendly. You will not be disappointed if you take your children to this practice.

Dr. Kathi and her staff are amazing! They make it so much fun to come to the dentist! Since her very first appointment, our 5 year old daughter says she wants to be a dentist like Dr Kathi! My three children have been with Sunset Children's Dentistry since they opened. Everyone on staff has always been very friendly. Dr. Kathi is amazing! My 9-year-old had to have some teeth pulled recently and was having some anxiety about it. He had a lot of questions about it. I guess he got confused about where we were going to do this since we had seen an orthodontist recently. When he found out Dr. Kathi at Sunset Children's Dentistry was going to be taking his teeth out he visibly relaxed and exclaimed, "Oh! Thank goodness! She won't hurt me!" I would first like to say that I am very pleased!!! We are kind of new but since my kids became patients here we have been treated like family. Staff is always friendly, knowledgeable, and incredible with the kids. Dr. Kathi S. is awesome!!! This is the best dentistry I have ever known. My kids love it as well.

We LOVE Sunset Children’s Dentistry! The staff are very warm and compassionate. When my daughter was experiencing pain, they were able to see her the same day and take care of her problem! I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Kathi, Courtney and the entire staff. My kids enjoy going to the dentist and I feel very confident that they are getting outstanding care. I highly recommend them.
