Services
The most recent addition to The Casselman is The Casselman Motel, a 40 room hotel/motel located just behind and to the left (west) of the restaurant. In keeping with the original Historic Inn and Casselman Restaurant, some furniture was hand-crafted by local members of the community and the Miller family, contributing to a relaxed home-like feeling.
The Casselman Inn was built in the 1840's by Solomon Sterner to serve travelers on the National Road. Each room in the original three-story Federal brick house contained a fireplace, the only source of heat for warmth and cooking. The bricks were handmade on the land nearby, and much of the woodwork is hand-hewn timbers and hand-planed boards.
The cuisine of our restaurant is simple, country food with a variety of favorite recipes reminiscent of the Pennsylvania Dutch and Amish background of the owners. Our menu includes homemade breads, cakes and pies prepared in our own bakery downstairs. Visitors are welcome to watch the preparation of our baked goods and smell the aroma as they are removed from the oven.

Visited with the family and was very pleased. We had the haystack burrito that another reviewer had a bad experience with but our was fresh and tasty so maybe they just were a one off… anyway we also had Donuts fry pies and English muffin breakfast sandwiches everything was great prices were very reasonable. I Would highly recommend visiting if you get the chance . We will definitely be return customers!

Picked up some cinnamon rolls from here one morning before heading out on the water. They were fantastic and I love that there was the option to get a half-and-half of maple and cream cheese topping! The rolls themselves were soft and gooey and the maple topping is a game changer for cinnamon rolls. They were tastiest given just a few seconds in the microwave to heat them up. Also, the prices were super reasonable for the container. Worth the stop!

Local bakery and breakfast/lunch location. Breakfast plate with biscuit, gravy, hashbrowns and bacon was excellent! (Fresh potatoes not frozen). Assortment of fresh breads, cookies, pie, donuts and cinnamon rolls. Chicken salad, corn salad, macaroni salad, yogurt parfaits, MD crab soup, maple syrup and snacks also available. Check it out!!

We came here multiple times. Everything was good, from breakfast burritos to cinnamon rolls. One suggestion would be to ask for no sour cream on the burritos if you aren't 100% into that, because they really put a lot on. We tried all of the different variations of cinnamon rolls and many of the hand pies. Everything was really good, but cinnamon rolls with the maple glaze was the overall favorite.
Really recommend this place and the cinnamon rolls!

We enjoyed a breakfast and a lunch at Casselman's during our long 4th of July weekend in Deep Creek. My egg & bacon English Muffin sandwich was terrific! It was great not to have all of the grease one would get at a fast food restaurant. Wholesome & tasty! My lunch was a BLT and it was fabulous. I also took some Salted Caramel Snack Mix back to our room. Still enjoying that treat now that we're back home. I highly recommend that you visit Casselman's when you're in the area.

I have been enjoying Casselman's for several years. They are a subsidiary of the larger restaurant in Grantsville aMd. Located at Deep Creek Lake, the cafe and bakery is a delight. Every baked good I have eaten has been delicious, a good portion and as fresh as the dawn. The cafe opens for breakfast at 7am and stays open until 3pm. There as a small but delicious home style breakfast menu and the lunch offerings are first class. Today I had a bowl of scratch made chicken noodle soup and a ham and cheese roll. My spouse had a BLT that she claims is the best she's ever had. On top f the

I've been coming to deep creek for years and for some reason never realized there was a cafe here lol, always thought it was a furniture store. Mistake on my part because it's great! I stopped by and grabbed a few things for a quick lunch and everything was awesome and priced really really reasonably. Everything was obviously homemade and fresh. The cinnamon roll was so good and the icing was perfect. The chicken salad was pretty good too and the ham and cheese and pepperoni rolls were still hot from the oven. I'll be stopping here again next time I'm up for sure.

Omg this is for the fried pies - blueberry and cherry are amazing!! Homemade goodness! They offer breakfast and lunch items. I got the breakfast sandwich and thought it was very good. The iced coffee ( chose vanilla ) was smooth and perfectly sweetened not overpowering the smooth coffee flavor. The lunch options looked terrific but can't attest to that on this trip.

Stopped here for a lunch on a February Saturday afternoon. Limited hours until 2pm, nice folks working. They also carry breads, baked goods, and the same canned preserves and whatnot you'd get from the Casselman down the road in Grantsville.
Ordered a chicken salad wrap and the lunch special is a sandwich, chips and drink for $9.29. Chicken salad was good - I thought it was done well.
Also scooped a cup of the Maryland crab soup which was really good - had a nice amount of crab and spice to it. Wasn't runny or watery either.
Well done. Stop here for lunch when you're at the

Stopped in here on our way out of deep creek because I was intrigued by the donuts. My, were they delicious. Doughy but not too dense, flaky glaze on top (and all over my car seat!) we also got a breakfast sandwich and breakfast burrito and they, too, were delicious and freshly made after ordering. Only had to wait maybe 10 minutes, quick flow of service. I will say the coffee was a little lacking. No specialty drinks, which is fine, but the actual coffee was just two canisters sitting out--1 decaf and 1 regular. It was really light coffee, which made me realize I must prefer more medium-bold because

There's not a ton of local (non-chain) food options in the Deep Creek area, so we decided to give it a shot after passing it several times on our travels through the town.
The Casselman is a very small casual restaurant, and it seems they also do a lot of grab-and-go orders for locals working in the area. They offer a limited breakfast and lunch menu, as well as a special lunch item of the day, which was sold out by the time we got there for a late lunch at 2:00.
They offer a small salad bar, which is stocked with garden salad mix, spinach, salad fixins', a variety of about 6 salad
