My two sons and I ate at Canaan Valley BBQ this past week and thought it was fantastic! Chef Paul, who owns the place, and his staff were excellent and very attentive to their guests. I had the brisket while my sons split pulled pork and wings. The brisket was moist and packed with flavor. I found it so good, I really didn't need any BBQ sauce as I didn't want to ruin the taste. My two sons split wings and pulled pork, and both raved at just how good it was; My youngest said it was the best pull pork he's ever had. Even more, Paul saw us on the slopes the next day and said hello. It's crazy that

We came down on a Saturday around 3:00. Two kids two adults. Service was friendly, down to earth staff, restaurant was clean and the atmosphere was also a nice bonus. Now to the food. The pulled pork sandwich I ordered could have been warmer, but aside from that the portion size was large and the pork tasted great. Girlfriend got bbq ribs that fell right off the bone, Mac and cheese was just ok fries were decent and the coleslaw was good. All in all a good place to eat. We really didn't have any complaints.

We stopped by after a long day at Timberline and ordered the full rack of ribs, cornbread, salad coleslaw, and the Mac and cheese. The cornbread servings were a lot bigger than we thought they would be! The cornbread was crumbly, which is how we like it, and went amazingly well with the coleslaw and Mac and cheese. The salad ingredients were fresh and was such a good blend. The ribs were delicious! We come from NoVA so there are a bunch of BBQ options in the area, but these could easily beat them all. The staff were all very sweet and welcoming, and the food came out in about 10-15 minutes. Can

Take out is great. I'm a fan of the pulled pork and brisket, though it sometimes comes a little dry. Not a full substitute for home cooked barbecue but nonetheless good and fast and convenient.

We went for dinner, around 6-6:30, two days ago, we had read the reviews so figured it would be pretty good. Oh, wrong was an understatement!! We ordered the pulled pork nachos, brisket, Mac and cheese, green beans. Everything was warm at best but the only thing worth eating was the brisket. The pulled pork was all fat, the cheese sauce tasted like they forgot to put in the actual cheese and was just warm cream and butter. We were very disappointed and left hungry. The staff seemed to not care much and never once asked how things were. One woman was walking around with a unlit cigarette hanging

My family and I went to Canaan Valley to go skiing and this was one restaurant we wanted to try out. The place was very busy when we got there at 6:00, and since our air bnb was nearby we went back, and came back *a whole hour later* when our food was ready. For five people, the total cost was $70-$80 (pretty expensive).
The food itself was pretty good and well seasoned, but the portions were quite small. My family ate a total of three entrees, three sides, and one full rack of babyback ribs. The cornbread is pretty crumbly but tasted good. The onion rings were crispy but they gave us somewhere

So, I ordered a pound of pulled pork, along with a few of their potato buns and some sides. Asked for BBQ sauce as well, but they didn't include any. Told my family "my review is either gonna be 4 stars on the strength of their BBQ but with a deduction for forgetting stuff, or it's Homs be less than that because the meat needs sauce and they forgot it."

Unfortunately it's the second. The pork was super salty and lacked smokiness. The Mac and cheese was very substandard, the potato buns seemed stale, and overall I am kind of sad I chose this as my first meal in the area

The brisket and pulled pork are average at best. Whatever rub they use on the pork is very bland. The wings are nothing special, very little smoke flavor on them. I've had better frozen store bought cornbread.

This normally would earn a 3 star review. The one star is due to the HORRIFIC customer service! We picked up a VERY large order for a friends wedding and were expected to supply our own foil pans! We were told the order would be ready at 5:00, evidently there was a miscommunication and they thought it was 5:30, it happens. At 5:30 they started packing the order, at this point we told

Oh my goodness. BBQ heaven. We went twice. Brisket and chicken .. potato salad perfect southern potato salad without the dang mustard .. I love it. Better than bbq mission places. We are city people but I'm in hog heaven with this place. Staff were terrific. I'm like out of no where it's the greatest bque. Even better than a Red Hot Blue.

Pretty good food and they were good about my food allergy! Not the most amazing BBQ I've ever had, but probably the best in the area. Staff was relatively friendly but could've been a bit more organized. Overall, I recommend eating here!

We got the meats...from CVBBQ. And we really enjoyed them. Baby back ribs were very tender and almost don't need sauce but they've got a tangy-sweet one. Chicken wings with buffalo sauce were also top-notch. Sauces come on the side, at least for take-out. This place takes pride in their smoker and meatcraft and it comes through in the flavors. Big dining room with bar, though we took out as we were staying nearby. Free refills on soda but it's a small cup for $3 - maybe don't get one if to go order.

The baked beans were excellent (potato salad in pic isn't from there)

Seriously horrible! Spent $100 with tip on 4 sandwiches 2 sides each and 8 boneless wings with 1 side
Sides are separate charges From meats and while the meat was a decent quality and the potato salad was good the rest of the meal was abysmal. Onion rings fell apart and were under cooked while the boneless wings were so over fried they were black in places...Seriously how do you fry something that it turns black.. cornbread was sandy and Mac and cheese was mushy. With the great places around the area skip this one and save your money.

Super cute, newer looking restaurant on a side street "in town". Floors, bathrooms, bar were very clean. Limited menu but the pork was delicious and the green beans were yummy! Tasty local beers to boot!
The serving of pork was huge!! I had leftovers for lunch the next day!

Okay, this was seriously the MOST delicious meal we had all week! We had the pulled pork sandwiches, pulled pork nachos and family size fries. I cannot even explain how delicious everything was! The renovations to the building are absolutely stunning as well. We will definitely be back!

Walked to dinner last night because our hotel is right around the corner. I had the pulled pork sandwich and he had 12 wings. We both had a soda and shared a side of fries. For $50 bucks it wasn't worth it, wings were bland and the bun on the sandwich was burned.

We were on our girls weekend getaway and stopped in for some lunch. The restaurant was clean and very nice. The food was plentiful as we both took food home for later. The meals were very good, cornbread was good but a little on the dry side. I would recommend you give it a try.

We were very pleasantly surprised. We'd rented a large house, but were hungry and waiting for guests to arrive. We stopped at Landis Realty and were directed there. I ordered a pulled pork sandwich and a side salad. My wife ordered 6 wings and a salad. When the salads came, we realized we over ordered. The side salad was big enough for both of us. We both ate less than half of them. She saved some wings for later. I managed to eat half of my sandwich, taking the rest with me. The only negative (which was kinda cute actually) is that neither of the two people we interacted with could describe the

What a great experience!
We had the wings, BBQ chicken, mac n cheese, cornbread, baked beans and fries. Everything was delicious especially the BBQ chicken. The BBQ glaze with the blackened skin brings such a beautiful sweetness and smokiness flavor to the chicken. Fries were crispy. Mac n Cheese creamy. Baked Beans were a wonderful balance of sweetness and saltiness. Wings were great great.
The places is big and socially distance. The staff were friendly and abided by COVID guidelines. Would 1000x recommend this place for the space, food and staff.

We were visiting WV and saw the reviews of this place and thought why not. We ordered the half chicken and brisket sandwich, as well as Mac and cheese. To be honest the Mac and cheese was not that great, the sauce had a gel texture that wasn't very pleasant. The brisket was delicious as was the chicken. Not a very extensive menu, so not a great place for anyone with dietary restrictions.

Portions were large, which was great. Masks required inside, takeout was easy (we just ordered in person and waited). All in all, for the restaurants in the area, I would recommend!

First time visit, can't wait to visit again. It was a brisk fall day for a long motorcycle ride so I headed west from Northern Virginia 150 miles to sample this BBQ and ride same great West Virginia roads. The BBQ and roads did not disappoint. Greatly appreciate the COVID measures in place. Tried the pulled pork sandwich, baked beans, and the brownie. Sat down at one of the many outside tables, all a good distance away from each other and dove in. The pulled pork sandwich was massive. Easily the most generous portion I've ever had (which is saying something). Very tasty. A side of BBQ
