Using my own life experience along with professional education and training, I offer a realistic, no-B.S. approach to learning more effective ways to cope with some of life's challenges. I know from my own personal experiences what it feels like to live with depression & anxiety.
While that doesn't automatically mean I know exactly what you're going through, it does mean I'm a lot more likely to understand where you're coming from and what you might be experiencing. In the same way that counseling has helped me find more effective ways to deal with tough thoughts and feelings, I'm confident counseling can help you find happiness in spite of the depression or anxiety you may be dealing with.

You and your partner have felt distant for a while now. Your attempts to talk about it seem to fall flat. When one of you tries to bring things up, the other person becomes defensive or shuts down. You're considering couples counseling, but you worry that it won't help, that you and your partner will just end up arguing in session the whole time.
Simply talking about anxiety & depression can help decrease the intensity of symptoms in many circumstances, although what's even more helpful is to learn about how anxiety & depression work and how to deal with symptoms when they come up. Even with life as unpredictable as it is right now, there are techniques you can learn to help you loosen the grip that anxiety & depression have on you.
You're not feeling very hopeful about the future, that things will get better. Sure, you're still showing up for work and all the bills are being paid, but besides that, you feel like you're basically just.existing. You know there's treatment out there, but how the hell could talking about your life actually make things any better?
And looking around yourself right now, it seems like a lot of people are worrying. The difference is, worrying was your thing waaaaaay before this whole pandemic started. In fact, it's pretty hard to remember any time when worry wasn't a major part of your life. You worry about things that might happen in the future and things that did happen in the past.
Let's be honest: Racism, Misogyny, Homophobia, and many other oppressive prejudices are pretty rampant in America. White supremacy is becoming even louder and more visible. I cannot claim to know firsthand how unsafe-and unseen-many people are feeling in our country at this point. However, when you are talking with me, I will do everything I can to help you feel safe and accepted for who you are.
