Services
In 1926 the funeral home was founded at its current location by Joseph Thallemer. The funeral home was known as the Thallemer Funeral Home. Following Mr. Thallemer's death in 1955, the funeral home was purchased by Charles "Joe" Goethals who owned and operated the business as the Thallemer-Goethals Funeral Home.
We offer several options to make the time of loss more meaningful, including personalized memorial folders and cards, as well as Life Memories DVDs, customized caskets and cremation urns. At Goethals & Wells, we serve families of all faiths and take pride in providing a comfortable home-like environment for families before, during and after their time of need.
Since we purchased the funeral home in 2002, the facility has been completely remodeled. There are no longer steps when entering and exiting the building and our restrooms are handicapped accessible. Our most recent improvement included a new refreshment room with children's area as well as a new funeral/memorial planning room.
When it comes to your final arrangements, shouldn't you make the decisions? The arrangements you make will reflect your exact wishes and desires. Pre-arranging your own service will help to ease the burden of your loved ones. It will also alleviate any questions, problems or differences, which can occur among family members.
The basic Military Funeral Honors (MFH) ceremony consists of the folding and presentation of the United States flag to the veterans' family and the playing of Taps. The ceremony is performed by a funeral honors detail consisting of at least two members of the Armed Forces. The Funeral Honors rendered to you or your veteran will be determined by the status of the veteran.

Thank you for a funeral that was just what my mother wanted. Such a comfort to the family that all the details in the pre-planning were followed perfectly. Chris and Marcia Wells were so kind and empathetic when mom passed and made sure the funeral went well. Their personal touch made the wake, Mass and burial everything we asked for, needed and more.

We are apart of their answering service and they are such a pleasure to work with. Marcia and Chris have nothing but the utmost empathy and compassion for the families they serve. Their clients that we deal with after hours are consistently pleased with the services they provide. We have recently conducted business with Goethals & Wells. I wish more people were as pleasurable to deal with. Many of our family and friends have used their establishment over the years and I'm sure they will continue to do so.
