Before his family moved to San Luis Obispo, Dr. Patel spent his childhood in London, England. He lived and attended school on the Central Coast until leaving for college to study biochemistry at UCLA. Upon receiving his bachelors degree he attended the UCLA School of Dentistry, earning his doctorate degree in 1998.
Dr. Patel is friendly and caring. The office staff are efficient and very personable. My kids look forward to going to the dentist and I couldn't be more happy with the care we receive there than I am. I am super picky when it comes to any doctor treating me, but Dr. Patel was able to cut the mustard! He is very friendly and down to earth. He stays pretty busy so scheduling can be difficult, but other than that Dr. Patel is very knowledgeable and up front. He is efficient and doesn't take forever. The new hygienist is a great fit to his practice. She was very kind, informative and patient. I highly recommend Dr. Patel.

Update on Dr. Perry & his team from a patient who "used" to be deathly chicken of dentists, dental work & cleanings but thanks to Dr. Perry & awesome hygienist Lindsey, it's a damn pleasure every time I walk through that door. My last review I was only 2 cleanings in & now I'm a veteran to cleanings, it's a walk in the park. My anxiety is completely gone because I have 150% trust in these beyond fantastic skilled people. I had a bit of a dental emergency with a crown that broke so I decided to give Dr. Patel's office a try. From the moment I walked into the office and checked in, everyone that works there seems to be wonderful! It ended up being a two visit fix and it was one of the most positive experiences I've ever had at a dentist office. I highly recommend this practice if you are in search of a new dentist. Dr. Patel has done a few procedures on me including bonding, fillings, crown and routine cleanings by his hygienists. The office is clean and up to date with friendly and efficient staff. Unfortunately, after he replaced my crown he couldn't get my bite right. I went in at no charge and he did try to correct it. After that I figured it was as good as it was going to get. Then I got the filling, and I was quite shocked. First, it was a very large filling on a tooth that had never had a filling previously. Perhaps that was necessary, he didn't discuss it in advance. Dr Patel is very professional, with an amazing staff. When you become a first time patient you are given a free electric tooth brush (sonicare) and all my teeth cleanings have been 100% healthier since I've made the change to my new eclectic food brush. I highly recommend this office. Hygienist do a great job.

Out of town on vacation and developed a severe toothache. Lived with it for 2 days and finally had to seek help. Hard to put your medical trust in someone you don't know. Dr Patel and staff were great. Professional care at a more than fair price. Paid cash so no going into specifics as each case is different. I am pain free with several suggestions on possible alternative future treatments with my regular dentist. Follow up text message from Doctor Patel as to my condition and offers to talk and forward x rays to my dentist. My thanks to the staff and Dr Patel. Great experience

My last visit with Dr Patel I told him of my concern that my teeth were shifting with age and I had gaps between my teeth. That's all I saw when I looked in the mirror or at a photo of myself. I hated it. He assured me that he could fix the problem. I had my appointment with him today and in a short amount of time and a pain free procedure I have my old smile back, but better. I couldn't believe it and am thrilled with my new smile. Dr Patel is a true artist. My next visit with him will be for botox on my frown lines and fillers for my wrinkles around my lips. I can't say enough nice things about Dr. Patel and his business practice. He is not only an exceptional dentist that does great work, but he cares about his patients! My husband, son and I have been seeing Dr. Patel for 13 years (son is now 19, so he basically watched him grow up over the years) and Dr. Patel is genuinely concerned about my son learning to be an adult (learn a trade, get a job, get his license, be responsible, etc). Every 6 months, when he gets his teeth cleaned, Dr. Patel talks to him about these things. Not pressuring him or being mean but encouraging him to be successful

Dr. Patel and his staff are by far the BEST! He was referred to my by cousin and also one of my friends (she still makes the drive to go to him even after she moved to Santa Barbara because he is amazing!) I would highly recommend him to anyone who is searching for a dentist in the five cities area. Their technology is advanced and they even have this new a machine that will numb your tooth without you feeling a thing! They have a tv screen that is above your head while you're laying down so that you can watch Netflix shows/movies while you're having your teeth cleaned or a procedure

They are conscientious of what you want done and aim to please 110% and they do please 110% you will be happy with any service that you have done that and I also had cosmetic dentistry on my bottom for teeth and you would never be able to tell that these are not my teeth I am thrilled with my results.

I have not been to a dentist in over 8 years. I have had the worst experiences in the past that have lead me to a fear of sitting in that dental chair. The minute I walked into Dr Patel’s office I was welcomed with warmth and a total understanentn of the kind of patient I was and was going to be. Not once did Dr Patel make me feel like I had to “get over it”. On the contrary. His front office staff Janie and Jen make you feel welcome from the moment you walk into the office. Dr. Patel's hygienists are professional and always put you at ease. Let's face it, no one wants to go to the dentist. I am so bad, I'll let a cavity go unchecked until it's past being saved with a root canal and needs to be pulled.
However I have a lot of cavities that needed attention and I can't go around toothless, so I needed to get them checked out.
I wound up here with my insurance and really liked my experience here so far. Staff and doctor are all great and professional. They have a monitor over the dental chair and a subscription to Netflix and you can watch whatever you want while having your teeth worked on.

I have been here several times before and have been meaning to write a review. Amazing staff that is always in an upbeat mood! Ive been here for cleanings, cavities and when I needed an assessment for my wisdom teeth removal. I had put off going to the dentist for a very long time I received a coupon for new patients. Got my income tax refund and decided to go. What a lovely experience. Everyone was kind and friendly and gentle. Not only did I get a quick appt , the office staff was just as nice.

Doctor Patel is one in a million! I had gone through nearly a dozen dentists before trying him ( yes, nearly a dozen!) I used to be one of those people that would rather do anything else but have to go to the dentist!
Dr Patel and every single one of his office staff, especially Diana, are amazing! Always professional and most importantly -incredibly helpful and accommodating.
