When owners Nikki and Lay met 20 years ago at the prestigious Jose Eber Atelier in Highland Park, they never thought that this could turn into a career partnership of a lifetime. Their long- standing partnership and leadership proves to be a success over the years. At Jose Eber, Nikki was a senior colorist working with elite celebrity stylists where she mastered the science of hair color, specializing in Balayage.
As a senior colorist Nikki also spent years educating stylists on various color techniques and formulation. A few years later, Lay joined the team as an apprentice stylist enduring the extensive training to specialize in custom cuts. Through dedication and determination and his natural artistic ability he rapidly worked his way up to be a master stylist.

Services
The front desk is a modern and two-toned in grey and white, and a rustic large black tufted leather ottoman and four large camel chairs beckon guests to relax. A stand-alone station is reserved for consultations and scalp analysis. The main floor opens up to 20 styling stations with thin lights that drop down from the ceiling to each station.
At Nikki| Lay Atelier, we are always striving for greatness. We are constantly looking for ways to improve our craft through education and training. We are driven to take customer service to the next level and maintain that caliber of service. We are looking for a team of highly skilled stylists who are motivated to grow their profession in a luxurious open concept space.

Megan is magical! I’m really grateful I found her when I did! I had dark brown hair and wanted to go Kirby pink edgy modern bob (while maintaining the health of my hair). She is a creative scientist with her cut and colors and makes everything unique for the client. She is fun, quirky, and upbeat and really makes you feel comfortable! I can’t wait to come back!

WHAT YOU KNOW ABOUT ROLLING DOWN DEEP to N&L Atelier?! #micdrop Hah All seriousness, this salon is simply modern, beautiful, clean and FILLED with talent. To be completely honest, I'm really feeling myself every time I leave this place. Invest in a GOOD haircut b/c I'm a believer in- look good, feel good! I only go to Lay because I know I'll leave happy every single time. He's honest and always knows what looks best with this face. I've been to numerous places to get a haircut, but Nikki and Lay Atelier feels right! Therefore, I don't go anywhere else.

I visited for the first time today. I don't color my hair, just came in for a haircut. Lay did a fantastic job! I didn't know exactly what I wanted (it's been a while since my last haircut- I just wanted something that looks good on me) and Lay did a great job interpreting my needs. Came home and my husband did a double take when he saw me. Highly recommend.

Katie is the absolute best!!!! I recommend her to everyone asking for stylist recommendations. She has done balayage, fun colors like purple and pink, and root touch and glaze to get me back to normal! She always makes sure we do the color so my hair stays healthy through all the changes and gives solid advice on if a cut I am thinking will work for my hair type and how it will look on me. Katie is so sweet and gets that kiddos make scheduling harder sometimes and will do everything she can to work with my schedule and get me in. She has even worked through her lunch just to make it happen! Can’t

When I moved to Texas from Colorado, I had the hardest time finding a hair stylist that did quality work. I stumbled into another salon and happened to be booked with Katie. She did such a phenomenal job on my hair that I followed her to Nikki Atelier, have now been a client for just over 2 years, and won't let anyone else touch my hair. Not only are her skills top-notch, but she's also fairly priced and has been accommodating to my every need. Don’t walk, RUN to Katie! It’s no surprise that her schedule books up so fast because she is such a talented hair stylist & color wizard. I’ve tried countless hairstylist in the past, but she was the first one to notice things regarding my hair that no one had ever enlightened me on. Her attention to detail, educating me on hair care and always working within my budget has made her my go to stylist. I’m obsessed with Katie! I’ve gone to several hairstylist in the past and my hair always tends to look great but then turn “yellow”. But Katie changed everything! Not only is my hair healthier and thicker but it doesn’t have a yellow hue weeks after seeing her. It’s fresh and the color and detail is spot on. Absolutely stunning salon, from the moment you walk in. As you walk into the salon there’s a wonderful aroma that can’t be missed. The staffs are friendly and the decor is just beautiful. I love all the wood work from the front all the way to the back.

I wanted a new change to my fading brassy hair and in MAJOR need of a new fresh cut. They sat me down to consult and listened to my needs and Voila! A whole new woman! Hair color was matched perfectly by Nikki and she also gave me tips and points on how to prolong and keep my color for fading with recommendations on shampoos and what NOT to do.
Lay cut my hair, I wanted a low maintenance hair-cut/ do that can be quickly styled since I have young children and a newborn on the way, There's not

Lay has been my hairstylist for the past 8 years now and he has never ceased to amaze me! I love to change up my look and stay up to date with the freshest cut so every time I bring in a picture he nails it!
