Waston North Funeral Home
On the escalating cost of funeral service: the cost of funeral services to the consumer has increased significantly in the last decade due to the consolidation of funeral business and the overbuilding of funeral homes by individual owners. Many times former owner's or their families regret selling a funeral home and build a low budget funeral home to compete with the old business.

Simply put, at Watson - North Funeral Home & Cremation Center we are not a "Discount" funeral home that cuts corners or services to serve your family. We are proud of the fact that we offer the finest in facilities in Franklin County as well as service that will exceed your expectations.
Services
This firm was established by Mr. William Lester Steed. His father was was a Southern planter and his paternal grandfather was an Englishman by birth, who upon coming to this country, settled in Georgia. Mr. Steed was associated with a furniture and undertaking establishment in Dalton, Georgia. Upon his arrival here in 1909, he along with H.B. Herrin, also from Dalton, purchased the furniture and undertaking business of the Rice Furniture Co.
When it comes to your final arrangements, shouldn't you make the decisions? The arrangements you make will reflect your exact wishes and desires. Pre-arranging your own service will help to ease the burden of your loved ones. It will also alleviate any questions, problems or differences, which can occur among family members.
The basic Military Funeral Honors (MFH) ceremony consists of the folding and presentation of the United States flag to the veterans' family and the playing of Taps. The ceremony is performed by a funeral honors detail consisting of at least two members of the Armed Forces. The Funeral Honors rendered to you or your veteran will be determined by the status of the veteran.
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) furnishes upon request, at no charge to the applicant, a Government headstone or marker for the unmarked grave of any deceased eligible veteran in any cemetery around the world, regardless of their date of death. When the grave is already marked, applicants will have the option to apply for either a traditional headstone or marker, or a new device (available spring 2009).
A United States flag is provided, at no cost, to drape the casket or accompany the urn of a deceased veteran who served honorably in the U. S. Armed Forces. It is furnished to honor the memory of a veteran's military service to his or her country. Generally, the flag is given to the next-of-kin, as a keepsake, after its use during the funeral service.

I have to say that during one of the lowest times in my life Mr. Tommy and Mrs. Doris were a shinning light. They were with us through every step. They both made us fill as if we were not alone. They took such great care of grandma as if she was their family. They both went above and beyond. We are ever so grateful for them.

Absolutely terrible. Do not give these people your business. My friend just lost his Father, he is 18, in school, and had to use gofundme to pay for the funeral. When Mr. North found out it was crowd funded, he charged an additional $2400 dollars and threatened to press legal charges!! Against a teenager who just lost his father!!
They did not provide music, a service, or anything besides a room and air conditioning. These people are extortionists, and are not true Christians. If we had the money, we would sue.
I would absolutely never recommend these scammers.

If I could give this place no stars I would. During our experience with this place the staff was not very friendly. We had to call repeatedly because the obituary was wrong. During a loss it's hard enough. Having to deal with people who were not very friendly or helpful just makes it harder!
