Discovery Multiple Intelligences Preschool's mission is to provide high quality, Montessori education to a diverse range of pre-primary children in the Scranton Area. We ensure that a minimum of half our students come from families with low to moderate incomes through a range of community partnerships and subsidies.

Services
The Discovery MI Preschool bases its school philosophy on the multiple intelligences theory of Dr Howard Gardner. Our school philosophy and unique curriculum combines the multiple intelligences theory of education with Montessori based materials and resources to ensure the social, academic, physical and emotional development of each child in our school.
Our unique curriculum incorporates the materials and teachings of Dr. Maria Montessori as well as Dr. Maria Montessori's Method of Education believes children are naturally eager for knowledge and capable of initiating learning in the right environment. It focuses on development of the whole child-physical, social, emotional as well as cognitive.
Discovery MI Preschool has developed the following curriculum, split into six main areas of instruction. Based mainly on Montessori teachings and philosophy, this is a child-centered curriculum that can be tailored to suit each child's developmental stage and needs.

Discovery MI Preschool is delighted to introduce our teaching team. With a combined 60 years of teaching experience, they bring warmth, passion and creativity into our classrooms. They are the heart and soul of Discovery MI preschool and are excited about creating a quality learning environment for all our students.
Stacy Nivert in one of the founders of Discovery MI Preschool and past President of the Board of Directors. Stacy has 25 years experience in the fields of media and communications, government, politics and public relations. Through her career she has provided high-level strategic advice to major organizations such as the British Broadcasting Corporation, Australian Broadcasting Corporation and World Vision.

With a nurturing, playful, and structured environment perfect for getting started with education and socialization, if I could give infinity stars I would! Both of my children have thrived in this school. My son was prepared for kindergarten in a very short period of time, even though it was the school's first year open. My daughter has learned colors, kindness, resilience, and structure despite her wild ways... We LOVE our Discovery family!! Highly recommended!!
