Established in 1977, our school is licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Education, State Board of Private and Academic Schools. We are an early childhood development center and an elementary school. Classes offered are nursery through 8th Grade. Apple Tree first began as a nursery school in Director, Peg Moreck's, Kingston home.
A school is not just buildings and "stuff". Its most important treasure is what is inside those walls, the people who teach and lead, mold and mentor. The very best part of our school is the team of individuals who everyday set out to make the day remarkable. Susquehanna Prep/Apple Tree has 16 highly motivated, full-time educators and mentors who nurture student-teacher relationships.
We know children flourish in a positive environment where school pride, community, and excellence are exemplified. Some quick facts about Susquehanna Prep/Apple Tree can help reinforce what you're already thinking. Low student to teacher ratio allows for a tailored learning experience with extra guidance given when needed to ensure success.
Following a strong instruction in phonics, targeted sounds and an emphasis on independent and shared reading, our students enter Kindergarten already reading. This achievement allows us to introduce our creative writing program, which we call "secret language". It is amazing to watch throughout the year as the stories unfold from gibberish and pictures to words and sentences.
All students should arrive at school at least 15 minutes prior to the instructional class start time. All students may start to arrive at 8:00am. Hello, my name is Polly! When I moved to this area, I didn’t have any children. With every new meaningful friendship I developed, these women shared extraordinary stories about Apple Tree. From the mouths of amazing mother’s across the Valley, the passion for the school was clear and memorable. When I had my sons, I was already convinced to enroll.
The support of the teachers has been outstanding. They are willing to go the extra mile for my three boys to master new skills. The curriculum challenges them in fantastic ways and I am seeing them grow everyday. All three are now reading and helping each other over one’s

Susquehanna Prep ROCKS!!! If you are looking for a school where your child will THRIVE, this is IT! Our 3 daughters go there from Pre-K through 4th grade and we plan on keeping them there until 8th grade. We just wish we would have found Susquehanna Prep sooner especially for our oldest daughter. She didn’t start there until 1st grade and Peg the director of the school made sure she wouldn’t be behind when she started 1st grade. Peg provided the resources for her to thrive. It took a while and a lot of hard work but she’s doing well and loves going to school, all 3 of them do! Don't let the
