The company was founded in 1897 as the J.F. Hartz Company. It began locally in Detroit, Michigan providing surgical instruments, as well as various medical supplies and equipment, to the medical profession. Hartz Company to swiftly evolve from a local pharmaceutical manufacturer into a major healthcare company with national recognition.

In the 1950's it became known as Ferndale Laboratories, Inc. Over the years, the company achieved exponential growth by meeting the changing needs of patients and healthcare professionals. Today's Ferndale Healthcare Inc., incorporated in 2010 as part of the Ferndale Pharma Group, Inc., targets several key specialty markets encompassing disease states ranging from various dermatologic conditions to benign anorectal disorders.

The skin is a very vital organ, responsible for many functions. But it is often affected by conditions that make it itch, turn red, break out or flake. Sometimes all one needs to do to fix a problem is to remove the irritating agent such as switching laundry detergents if skin feels itchy and sensitive.
Bruising is a very general term for a condition in which blood leaks out of the blood vessels into the tissues of the skin, mucous membranes or other organs, including muscles and bones. If you are concerned about bruising, be sure to talk to your doctor about underlying causes and possible treatment options.
Dry skin can occur at any age and for many reasons. Skin becomes dry when it loses too much water. This is why skin generally becomes drier as we age, during the winter, and in low-humidity climates. If you have dry skin, you're likely to experience a feeling of skin tightness, especially after showering, bathing, or swimming.
There are two types of hemorrhoids, internal and external. It is common for sufferers to experience both. Swollen or inflamed veins in the lower rectum or anal canal are what are commonly known as hemorrhoids. Internal hemorrhoids occur in the lower rectum, while external hemorrhoids develop below the rectal opening or surrounding the anus.
