Todd decided to launch Home Expressions after several years of hearing from San Diegans who wanted to work with JDR because of its impressive reputation but found their project didn't quite fit with the company's focus on high-concept design with a team of architects, designers and construction professionals.People asked Todd how Jackson Design and Remodeling's incredibly successful model could be more attainable for a wider variety of projects.

The existing kitchen in this historic Mission Hills bungalow had a contemporary design that was out of step with the home's character. The clients entertain frequently and wanted a more expansive space. The kitchen now feels much larger after removing a wall and a soffit. Coppered steel pendants define the island and attached table at the center of the new layout.
