We at South Shore Animal Hospital in Vassar KS have assembled an expert team of veterinary professionals to bring you the best possible healthcare for your pet. We have a state of the art veterinary facility which is clean, comfortable, and efficient.
Dr. Jennifer Roy is the owner of South Shore Animal Hospital with her husband, Peter Roy. She grew up locally and attended Marais des Cygnes Valley. She has a Biology degree from Kansas State and she obtained her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Kansas State in 2005. She has worked in several practices in Kansas before making the leap of hospital ownership in 2012.
Peter Roy has been the owner and Practice Manager of South Shore Animal Hospital since the spring of 2012 when he and his lovely wife, Dr. Jennifer Roy, built the hospital to support the surrounding area with a state of the art animal hospital. He graduated from Marais des Cygnes Valley High School in 1989 and then furthered his education through Baker University where he obtained his BBA in business.
Smokey is our hospital cat who came to us in May of 2016. He is a diabetic kitty that reminds us every morning and every evening when it is feeding time and that he is ready for his insulin. Sometimes he may try to trick us into thinking nobody has fed him yet, but we know better now!
You will see Smokey strutting his stuff around the hospital like he owns the place, trying to sneak food from some of our hospital patients or you could find him napping comfortably in one of our cushy reception chairs.Wherever he might be throughout the hospital, he is living the life!

Nothing could have been done to make my visit better. I am so so so glad I took my baby to you (all three), and even though Gracie needs surgery I am relieved to know she will be in phenomenal hands! Thank YOU for taking good care of them and being so kind! All of you were absolutely wonderful!

They really get in there and figure out the problem. Instead of just giving us a prescription and sending us on our merry way without any information. They are very nice, and really like your pets, and even give you call backs a few days later to see how they're doing after their care.
