Once an individual has been convicted of a crime, the Court will enter a judgment of conviction in the Circuit Court of the county of conviction. In Wisconsin, the defendant must first file a Notice of Right to Seek Post-Conviction Relief in the Circuit Court. That Notice gets filed by the defendant's criminal defense attorney.

The prosecutor dismisses cases, not the victim. People usually think that in domestic violence charges, the victim can drop the charges but that is false. Victims do not press the charges, so they do not get to drop the charges. Prosecutors will dismiss the criminal charge if it can't be proven in court.

Called him before 8am looking for an attorney. He probably wasn't even in the office yet but returned my phone call by 9am. We talked briefly and I forwarded some information to him. He wanted to look over my information and agreed to call me back. He called back at the time he said he would and he had already come up with a strategy. He is a very confident, knowledgeable person. I liked that about him. Since he was a former prosecuter, he knows exactly what needs to be done and he's not afraid to do it. Chris is awesome and highly recommended. He called me on Memorial Day from his cell phone after I initially requested information.
