Services
Lake Veterinary Clinic, established in 1970, is a full-service, small, large and equine veterinary clinic providing comprehensive medical, surgical, dental, ultrasound, laser therapy, and chiropractic care. Our newest addition to our services is dental digital xray and dental surgery. We have haul-in facilities for cattle with hydrauic chute, semen testing chute and ultrasound.
You may want to call to see when your doctor is available. Emergency cases shall always receive top priority, which is why occasional appointment delay is inevitable. For your convenience, 'drop-off' appointments are available. A 'drop off' means you could bring your pet at the time that works best for you and leave him/her with us for a couple of hours.
Because of the shorter lifespan of our pets, we stress the importance of an annual physical examination. Thorough check-ups and preventive care can help alleviate serious health problems. Diagnostic and Therapeutic Services: Our hospital is equipped to provide diagnostic and therapeutic services to care for your pets' complete health care needs.
Many people have questions about various aspects of their pet's surgery, and we hope this information will help. It also explains the decisions you will need to make before your pet's upcoming surgery. Today's modern anesthetic monitors have made surgery much safer than in the past. Here at Lake Vet Clinic, we do a thorough physical exam on your pet before administering anesthetics, to ensure their safety.
Wellness care- "An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure" That saying holds true for horses also. As part of our routine care we provide vaccinations, deworming, Coggins testing, and dental care. At the time of service we can discuss any issues you may have with your horse including nutritional needs, training programs, geriatric care, etc.

I live in Sioux Falls, SD and started bringing my dogs to the vet in Madison because my mom lived on the lake so I was up there regularly and could take them for their annual physical and shots. They're extremely flexible and fair on price, especially compared to Sioux Falls. They've also helped me with skin issues that required medication for one of my dogs and removing cracked/rotten teeth. They've been great to work with and would highly recommend them to anyone in the Madison area and beyond for non-emergent vet needs!

Took my 4 month old kitten in with a bad case of worms. After 5 minutes the vet decided to keep him over the weekend. We didnt hear anything from the vet till we called 24 hours later to see how he was over night. They said he took a turn and they should know more in 3 houra. Waited till midday and called again because we were super worried. The doctor was unavailable and they said hed call us back in 15 minutes later. Then at 4 hours after we had called he called and told us our baby had passed and we then drove 20 miles to pick him up and there the vet said it was free of charge which was super

This is the best vet I have ever been to. I have a puppy that we cant get to gain weight or eat and they have been so helpful and diligent about helping us. They are so good with the animals and truly do care about them. I just moved here two weeks ago and was nervous about going to a new veterinarian. I am so thankful I found them!
