I have had professional interaction with Dr. Woody Franklin over the past 20 years. My encounters with Dr. Woody have involved pups to senior pets, cats, dogs, birds and even a bunny.

Services
Dr. Woody is a graduate of the University of Illinois (Bachelor of Science) and the University of Illinois Veterinary School (Doctor of Veterinary Medicine). He has excellent diagnostic skills developed from years of experience. He is beloved by his clients, many of whom have been with him since he bought the practice in 1996.
We use all necessary ancillary laboratory testing to secure a diagnosis with appropriate treatment. We have in-house blood chemistry testing, as well as individual testing for diabetes monitoring, liver, kidney and pancreatic function. Diagnostic testing for internal parasites, heartworms, Lyme and other diseases is also available.
We have a full service boarding facility with climate controlled 8' by 5' runs. Smaller pets are sheltered in Shoreline and Hazelton, stainless steel, insulated kennels. We walk dogs 2-3 times daily and they are fed twice daily with Science Diet Maintenance food and provided water. We also provide doggie day care.

Dr. Woody is a fantastic vet. Very polite, knowledgable and so good with pets. I cannot express how AFFORDABLE and TRUSTED he is. I drive 35-37 minutes to see him when there is a vet clinic less than 5 minutes from me. If that doesn't speak to the quality of this place I don't know what does.

Critical: Professionalism, Quality
We brought 2 of our guinea pigs to get their nails cut and they were cut extremely short. He hit their quick many times and put no powder on to stop the bleeding. He also wasn’t going to cut one because it was curled a bit which he called, “broken”. He seemed to handle them okay, but I would not recommend going here.

Had an emergency where my normally very nervous dog needed stitches right next to her eye.. I called and he took her immediately and did so great with her. We are new to this vet but I don’t be taking any of my animals anywhere else! Plus he had awesome prices for his care!

This man embodies what a vet is! Not only is he outstandingly accommodating with squeezing my animals in for emergencies, he is also a skilled surgeon. I trust him entirely with our pedigree cats and exotic birds. We have several vets in the area but this is where I choose to have our beloved animals seen and cared for.

Dr. Woody always takes excellent care of my animals and is available on call whenever needed. I recently got a barn cat (see pic elow) and took her to him immediately. She had a cold, worms and mites and was extremely thin. After about 2weeks on medication she is now in good health and can get back to playing around .
