Did you know that chiropractic dates back to the time of Hippocrates? He believed that if the spine was misaligned, it greatly contributed to the health of an individual. The modern day school of chiropractic dates back to 1895, when Dr. Daniel Palmer adjusted a man that had lost his hearing 17 years prior.
Since 1984 Dr. Joe has been serving the community with gentle, caring chiropractic treatment. Dr. Joe earned his Doctor Of Chiropractic Degree from New York Chiropractic College in 1984. He also regularly attends educational seminars which keep him up to date on the latest in chiropractic and healthcare.
Your first visit to our office will last approximately one hour. After filling out a confidential patient information and history form, you will have a consultation with Dr. Scimone to discuss your health history and underlying causes of your present condition. A careful physical, orthopedic and neurological examination will be given to help make an accurate assessment of your condition.
Adjustments, or manipulation as they're sometimes referred to, are the minor movement of vertebrae in the spine. The objective of this movement is to realign vertebrae that have moved out of place for a number of reasons ranging from normal daily activity to trauma such as a car accident. When these vertebrae are out of place, it has an overall systemic effect from muscular to the central nervous system.
