Services
Dr. Johnston combines the use of chiropractic adjustments, mysofascial therapies along with ancillary procedures; ultra sound, muscle stimulation etc to achieve the best result possible for her patients. Her knowledge of several "low force" techniques and use of massage and physical therapeutics, allows her to treat patients who are not good candidates for "traditional" chiropractic adjustments, such as the elderly.
Dr. Johnston uses many different techniques, some of which are uniquely designed for specific problems. Trigger point therapy is a hands-on bodywork technique used to relieve tension and pain by releasing and lengthening both muscles and fascia. The practitioner applies a steady light force to designated "trigger points" along a muscle group(s).
Your first visit will last approximately one hour. After written intake information is collected, a thorough consultation and health history will help Dr. Johnston to understand your condition. This is also the time when we can often determine if chiropractic is a good fit for you. If it is, we will do a comprehensive physical examination.
The majority of insurance carriers do not require a primary care referral. Although some do require this or a pre-authorization. It is your responsibility to know your benefits so we highly recommend you verify this with your insurance company prior to your first visit. We will however be happy to assist you with questions or problems you may have.
