New Start Recovery was founded in 2013 dedicated to providing the most comprehensive addiction treatment programs to help individuals struggling with substance use disorder and those who love them heal and recover. Our facilities are Joint Commission accredited, meaning they meet the highest industry quality control and excellence standards.
As the Program Director, Christian provides one-on-one counseling for all of our clients and oversees their individual treatment plans with great care and attention to detail. He regularly joins our clients at Phoenix Multisport to model the importance of fellowship through fitness. Christian earned his master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at California Baptist University.
New Start Recovery's drug and alcohol detox program is an excellent first step in recovering from chemical dependence before transitioning to a residential treatment program. When someone who is physically dependent on alcohol or drugs tries to stop using, withdrawal symptoms will begin and increase intensity before tapering off.
Alcohol detoxification is an essential first step, a supervised period of cessation of alcohol intake for effective treatment and management of alcohol addiction. Our clinicians and staff members are on duty 24/7 to support our clients through the recovery process.

Detoxifying can be a painful, debilitating, and even life-threatening process. Without professional help from a drug detox program, it is usually unsuccessful, leading to relapse. Patients are safer with a medical team of a medical detox program than they would be otherwise. Amazing experience staff is great they helped me get on the right path and find myself again the staff truly cares about there patients and will do anything for the patients. I’ve been to numerous of places and by far this one is the best one I’ve been to and being a smaller facility they have more time to interact with the patients than being overwhelmed by 100s of people a day. I came to New Start broken and beaten down. My life was crumbling from addiction, and I could not stay sober by my own devices. The facility provided me a comfortable and safe place to detox. The staff here was extremely helpful and they go the extra mile to see the clients succeed. The clinical staff are well-educated, and they are able to present their knowledge in an easily digestible fashion. I picked up some useful coping skills here. Before coming to New Start, I was drunk, sad and alone. I couldn't stop drinking no matter how badly I wanted to. New Start not only helped me stop drinking, but also gave me the tools I need to stay sober and better my life situation. The daily group sessions helped me understand my disease and why I struggle with addiction. They teach coping skills, introduced me to AA and helped me find a great sponsor. When I had arrived at Newstart Recovery I was spiritually and mentally broken. I was lost and pretty unsure of where to head or what to do with my life. And the something amazing happened: I was met with love, patience, and complete and utter understanding. Coming into New Start, I was physically ill, thin, and severely depressed. The staff was amazing during my time in detox. It was my first time in treatment and they assured me that my family was ok and that I was in the right place. And I was. The support system was fantastic. Leaving was bitter sweet. Although I felt prepared physically and emotionally to move on, I had grown close to the staff as they became my family while I was in treatment.

As a first timer in treatment I didn’t know what to expect. I didn’t know how to seek outside help. I just knew my life was unmanageable and addiction was taking all I had day by day. Once I reached out to New Start, Paul was the only person out of like 5 rehabs to reach out to me everyday making sure I was ok. So I knew they truly cared. Once I entered Dorman I automatically felt that comfort. All the staff, therapists and cooks are truly genuine people who wanted nothing but the best for me! I chose to get help again because like always addiction had me in a tight corner, and i was unable to get clean without outside help. I came to New Start last year and it was my favorite out of the previous 6 rehabs I had attended, so I decided to call them again. I was responded to within the hour and they had me on a flight down within 48 hours. I appreciated the authenticity of the staff. They treat you like a real person and provide high quality individual and group therapy. The two staff members who help me the most were David and Jackie. I had a wonderful experience at New Start Recovery. The food, counselors, and staff are all amazing. I truly felt like all of the staff cared about me and wanted the absolute best for me. They worked tirelessly to provide a strong foundation for my sobriety. Everything from my admissions process to my discharge plan was handled by staff who really took the time to make the best decisions for me. I was scared to go out of state for treatment, but New Start made the transition better than I could have ever imagined. I would recommend this program to anyone trying to get sober.
