We believe in the Ministry of funeral service. Offering each family an opportunity to select and personalize a service that both honors their loved one but also celebrates their unique life in a way that is most meaningful to the family. Arthur and Fritzie Wallace and Albert and Helen Wallace started their funeral service to the Newton area in July of 1963 when they purchased the Toland Funeral Home.
In their, over 40 years of service in Newton, they not only served many families, but were very active and involved with the community. Fritzie passed away in 1982, Albert in 2007, Arthur in 2009, and Helen in 2013. Gary and Pat opened the Wallace Family Funeral Home in its current location in 1999.

Services
The Wallace Family Funeral Home provides full services and a wide range of personalized choices. Our staff is available to help whenever you call. We are here for you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. No matter what your wishes may be, we offer a range of services to help you create a service that is personal and dignified in every detail.
Pre-planning is also the best way to personalize a funeral, by making your wishes known in advance. If you choose to pre-pay, you also relieve your family of the possibility of a sudden, unexpected expense. When you discuss your preferences with one of our funeral directors, we'll have all the information needed to provide exactly the service you want.
The basic Military Funeral Honors (MFH) ceremony consists of the folding and presentation of the United States flag to the veterans' family and the playing of Taps. The ceremony is performed by a funeral honors detail consisting of at least two members of the Armed Forces. The Funeral Honors rendered to you or your veteran will be determined by the status of the veteran.
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) furnishes upon request, at no charge to the applicant, a Government headstone or marker for the unmarked grave of any deceased eligible veteran in any cemetery around the world, regardless of their date of death. When the grave is already marked, applicants will have the option to apply for either a traditional headstone or marker, or a new device (available spring 2009).
A United States flag is provided, at no cost, to drape the casket or accompany the urn of a deceased veteran who served honorably in the U. S. Armed Forces. It is furnished to honor the memory of a veteran's military service to his or her country. Generally, the flag is given to the next-of-kin, as a keepsake, after its use during the funeral service.

Even with other families being helped, Gary Wallace was there for my family and I and was very courteous, fully aware of our grieving, and genuinely concerned that Wallace Family Funeral Home was meeting every aspect of planning and carrying out my wife's memorial service perfectly and professionally!!! The entire staff at the Wallace Family Funeral Home is five star quality in my eyes!!! Thanks Gary and staff for a job well done!!!

No one ever wants to use the service Wallace provides, but in my time of grief and in the middle of all the overwhelming emotions Gary Wallace was absolutely amazing. He treated me like I was his only customer even though he was very busy, he was more than willing to be as accommodating as he possibly could be, he treated myself and my family as if they we were family. I really cannot say enough about great the service was in this unfortunate time.

My husband's passing was much more quickly than we had anticipated and we hadn't made any arangements. I was was referred to Wallace's Family Funeral services by a family member.
Having made no arrangements beyond his wish to be cremated I was at a total loss. Chantelle helped me work out arrangements that honored Dale's memory They worked within my budget, If you find yourself in need of making arrangements I highly recommend Wallace Family Funeral Home.

Our family was pressured to only look at the very expensive caskets while being told "the state will get the rest of the money anyway" a couple's times, which, was NOT true! When I asked about looking at the very nice wooden caskets shown as samples on the wall, the Wallace employee ignored my request, and continued to show us, instead, the ones she brought up on the big screen at the end if the room... which were the most expensive ones! We were never shown the ones I asked about!
Even when I pointed out that our deceased loved one's wishes was for a modest funeral... I was ignored.
